1953 belair wont stay in park

    Parking/e-brake spring is probably is probably old and corroded and stretched out.

    235motor to a power glide auto and she just wont go in park but will stays in rev and neu and drive

    Most likely the column should have a gate or notch that the shifting lever falls into when you put it in park. You should have to lift the shift lever towards the driver to get the shifting lever to come out of this gate. This gate is probably beat up, rounded off or otherwise fubar'ed.

    The shifting lever is the one out in the engine bay. The shift lever is right by the steering wheel.
