My brother-in-law retired last Sept. as a Master Chief. The Navy was a good life for him and provides a good retirement.

    What ship are you attached?

The Lincoln. I see as I go back.

    Good luck to you.
    Thanks also.

No my home town is Berwick... :D But I left there in '82... Went south, I don't like the cold weather... Though I really didn't go far enough....

Yep, corner of Cuscaden and Orchard Roads on the way back to the Trader Hotel.

    No alcohol involved... Honestly.

That was the evening I learned that there are some REALLY talented people out there (I had my wallet in my front pocket and pretty much saw it coming.) It only took me about 3-5 more steps to realize it was actually gone and then it was too late as the person was lost in the crowd.

I would definitely be interested in seeing some pics posted if you find anything hot rod or vintage related. I don't remember seeing much in Singapore.

I was in Hong Kong too and was amazed at the racing taking place around the city during normal evening hours, but it was all "Fast and Furious" import stuff (right drive Skylines and the like). If there are any rods there, it would be cool to see them!

yeah the last time i was there i remember seeing mostly ricer cars too. i was on bus duty with the local drivers (to keep the rowdy sailors under control) and i saw a guy and a motorcycle get run over right in front of us, the guy was clearly dead and all the bus driver said was "its not our problem, we're not stopping for him."
there are some crazy things that go on in different countries, i dont think i'm even going to orchard this time around. but if i do see anything hot rod related i will find a way to post some pics!

Good luck, shipmate. I transfered from the LINCOLN January '06. I still have some friends stationed there (ISCS Moffatt and CMDCM Williams). They're good people and if you ever run into problems, they would go out of their way to help you out. Feel free to PM me if you need any packages sent. I know from experience that geeting the latest magazine (latest as in 5 weeks old by the time you get it) is a Godsend.

    Have fun out there.

I received an email from Josh and yes he is in Singapore......I tried to respond to the email but it was sent back from the Navy. I will try again later.

hey skip, how have you been man? its been some time since i've been able to get online other than email.

things out here are hot and humid, we are ported in singapore and it is nice to finally see land again! after singapore we head to the persian gulf where we'll spend the summer...

we went thru the phillipine straits last week and it was beautiful. the aircraft have been holding up pretty well so far. i have had to make a few panels and ribs here and there, so its enough to keep me busy (and happy!) i had to make a rib for an h-60 helicopter and the depot engineer liked my metalwork, so that was a big feather in the hat so to speak!

anyway, let me know whats been up in good old fresno when you get the chance. hows aces and eights doing?

when you reply could you email to beiter.joshua@cvn72.navy.mil i probably wont get the chance to get back on the hamb until october or so, but i get my email everyday.
if i see anything hotrod related here i will take pictures but its mostly motorcycles and toyotas! take care, talk to you later, -josh
