My 13 year old son and I finally made time to lower the rear of our 1959 Fleetside over the weekend. I put the drop axle in a few years ago and have not had time to lower the back to match. Now I need to pull some springs out of the front end and make a notch in the frame.
thats awsome. I have a 58 fleetside and im about to put the axel over spring. My 14 year old son cant wait.
That is how we did ours axle over spring. Be ready to notch your frame if you want it to drive nice and be able to hall stuff still.
Looks good. I ditched my 1st one for a camaro subframe, and my current one is monte carlo. Yeah not trad, but the only way to get all the way down and have a good ride.
in the front i dont have to notch the frame because i put the 55 oil pan on the six. the rear is having the leafs rearched.
Man, that looks good. There's one of those just down the road I've been after for years. It'd make a great shop truck. Oh well, may be time to go knock on the door again.
