Hey folks, thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. I'm from Austin,Texas, been playing with cars and bikes for over 30 years. I cut my teeth on Muscle Cars, most recently I've been playing with motorcycles.I'm finally to the point where I can build a good old fashioned hot rod. It'll have a traditional influence with drag car styling. Someone on the board described their build as a traditional car that was updated thru the years for drag racing. That's pretty much what I'm aiming for. I plan on doing pretty much everything myself from mechanical to paint. I've ordered a '28 RPU from Last Refuge Hot Rod. So far I've got a 350/4 speed combo, '28 Grille Shell a set of big and little tires and a set of Hot Rod Steelies with '48 caps and ribbed trim rings. I ordered the wheels from Rally America. They were great to do business with and the wheels look fantastic. The first thing I did when I joined was become an Alliance member. What a cool deal and it's already paid for itself. I've been lurking for a while and have been really impressed by the talent, tech and the history. It looks like I can learn a lot while poking around on here. I've already bookmarked several threads that'll be real helpful down the road somewhere. Below is a link to some pics of my latest dabblings. Check out the folder line up on the left side of the page. I have a folder set up for the Custom bike I built a couple years back and the Katana that I pulled apart, cleaned up and painted. I still own both and ride the hell out of 'em I also have a folder started on my RPU build. I'm also helping build a '62 Galaxie that will be outfitted with all the Thunderbolt goodies. It belongs to a friend of mine and should be a great car when it's finished. http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj51/Lee_ATx/ Looking forward to meeting some of yall. See ya at the Round up! Lee

Sounds like you chose the same path I did. Started with the muscle cars, got into bikes, now I'm also building my first hot rod. Good luck with it!
Good luck with your build as well. I wish I could have 1 of everything but I guess I'm not smart enough to make the money it takes to have them all!
