Does anyone know how to run a 15" wheel on the front of a chevyII without t******* the front fenders? Someone told me how to do it once, but I cannot remember. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have a 15x6 rim w/ 3.5" backspace and a 195/60R15 tire on the front of my '65, and it is close, but does not rub. Tire height is key. Stick with something ~24.5" tall.

I had 15" early Z/28 steel ralley wheels on the front of my 67 Nova SS and it was lowered about an inch and a half. The very inside front edge of the fender was trimmed and pulled out just a little bit. I was not a noticable amount. It did rub sometimes turning while goin' into driveways. If the angle from the street to the sidewalk was to steep.

Awesome site. Been there for two years. And I have 15x6 wheels with 3.5" backspacing and 195/50 tires on there with loads of room to spare!

Thanks for all of your help on this thread, I figured out how to do this last night, I moved the stabilizer bars on the lower control arm. Once I got the nuts broke loose, the lower control arm will move about 3/4" of an inch back by adjusting the nuts on it. Some freaking ***** welded one side to the frame, needless to say that was challenging! Thanks again fellas for your help and input, and thanks to the HAMB, we can all help each other out! Thanks, Stretch.

The reason that ***** welded the lower control arm is that its a cheep lockout. So you can shim the upper control arm, & that keeps you from getting a alignment every year. So he might not be a ***** after all!

moving that adjusting cam over 3/4 inch is going to put a bunch of positive camber in the front end.

i forget which hub (someone else might see this and know), but it moves the wheel inward enough to clear the fender. hope this helps, even though pretty vague

The ***** welded the stabilizer bar bracket to the frame, and when I moved the bar it moved the whole ***embley back about a 1/2", but it will move more! Today I purchased a pair of Mickey Thompson 24" tall tires, now there's about an inch clearence between the front of the tire and the fender! But thanks again for all your help! I'll be driving this thing in a couple of weeks around the southeast part of the country, when I can get it out of the garage I'll snap some pics and post them! Thanks again!

A little off topic here but, if you keep the 4 lug front hubs/brakes, and want to run a taller wheel/tire combo, a neat trick is to use the old Nash Rambler/Metro wheels; 4 bolt, 15", and narrow. Used with V.W. Bug style tires, and the wheels painted white, it makes for a good drag race setup. Can also be done with Falcons/Comets still using 4 blot hubs/brakes. This was popular years ago, but the Nash/Metro wheels are'nt as available as they used to be.

What year Rambler are you referring to? I have a '60 Nash Rambler and it's 5 lug.

Had front clearance issue with mine using 205 / 14" 70 series tires and had to switch to 185/70/14 tires with less than 24 1/2 " diameter on the front . Wanted to run with factory caps and pinstripe whites.
Rather than t******* the fenders - extend the spacer rod that goes from the front lip to the frame by using a nut as a shim and a longer bolt.

back in highschool i swapped a set of 65 spindles and brakes onto my 62, swapped the rearend from a newer nova, dont remember what. ran 72 rally wheels on it with no problems. They were 15x6 or 15x7.
