  1. Tornado sirens went off here about 20 minutes ago.
    Everybody present and accounted for?
    Check your neighbors.
The storm cut a path across the Metro area headed for Athens.

Thunder and lighting was all. Still I've never seen so many tornadoes around here as the last couple of years.

OK here in Griffin, most of it went North of me. Woke up once last night to the sound of thunder.
Pix on TV look pretty rough in the downtown area of ATL.
There's a much larger appearing cell of storms in Eastern MS and Western AL headed this way though. Looks as if they'll be here around midday.

Everything is Ok up here in the mountains. Had some thunder and lightning come through about 7 this morning, but no damage that I know of. My daughter works and lives around the downtown Atlanta area. She was at work last night when the storm came through. The power went out and the sent everyone home. She said it took her about 1 hour to get home, usually takes her about 5 minutes. She had no power at home until around 1 am, but no damage.

On the list of amazing things I've seen/done that you only hear about someone else doing, I've now seen honest-to-goodness golf ball-size hail rain in my yard. Lots of wind, and the fire department was having fun running the tornado warning siren off and on all day, but that's it.
Late-model Dakota went in the garage, non-running '62 Suburban laughed as the big ice balls bounced off it's 45-year-old steel.

Last night it was all in the city. This morning and afternoon it was all to the north. I hope everybody is OK out there, it looked pretty wicked. We didn't get much rain here, about 3/4" since Friday.

Wow, what a day! The local Atlanta TV stations pre emptied all programing yesterday until 7 pm just to follow the weather and all the storms. They just kept popping and popping. 2 fatalities in NW GA, and lots of ****tered property damage all over North Georgia.
