I've searched the best I can (which isn't saying much) but can't find anything concrete on how you tell a '32 Ford truck from a '33 or '34. I've found a guy selling what he says is a '32 cab complete with doors, etc. I'd only be interested if it is a '32. How do I tell?? Thanks everyone, Steve
Firewall and the beltline along the rear of the cab has a double belt line. I think that the 33'/34's have a triple beltline, but the doors are the same for 32-34 and bring REAL good coin via Epay. Chris Nelson Kansas
the firewall is in on the 32 and the 33 and 34 are out, 32 and 33 cab has two raised tears around the cab the 34 has a bigone below back gl***
Firewall is removable on a 32 and its riveted or spot welded in on the 33/34, as well a 32 roof line has the visor stamped with the roof skin as one piece and 33/34 is a seperate piece. as well as what was said above about the rear body beltline. If it was on a frame, the wheelbase is longer on a 33/34, and the frame is different.
Now that's ***uming it's a 32 vs 33/34 pickup truck cab and not a panel delivery, 'cause if it's a delivery I can give you five more different differences Dennis
Easiest way to tell for sure ... and a good many of the trucks running around that CLAIM to be 1932's are actually 33 and 34 models. .
Here ya go,,,,still wet from the storm,,,, 32 has two belt lines,,, 33/34 has the same lines but with a extra wider belt line 32 firewall is removable and is sunken in toward the interior of the cab,,, 33/34 firewall actually gives you a little more room,,,the firewall is a part of the cab,,,
I also left off the part about the wood reinforcing bolts in the back of the cab are in the wider belt,, HRP
The Dash Has The Same Oval As The Car But Won't Fit A Car! Thats '32- The 33-34 Has The Stamped Insert- Ya Thats It-
Thanks guys - armed with this info I should be able to tell for sure! I'll keep you posted if I become another deuce owner! Steve
Thanks man,,,since we happen to have a 33/34 cab in the shop now and my truck,,,just seemed like a good opportunity to help with a few photos. HRP
Don't be afraid of it if it's a 33 other than a few small items like the firewall and dash it is the same cab as the 32. I have built my last two 32 trucks with 33 cabs. I like the extended firewall if you are thinking air as it's dam tough to get the air unit under the dash with the stock 32 firewall. Some 32 trucks had a smooth top and some late 32 trucks had a ridge right behind the visor that continued into 33-34. All 32-34 tops were stamped as 1 piece and did not have seperatre visors. The 34 was the only year with the extra ridge above the beltline in the rear. I have all 3 years in my storage shed so is easy to tell.
