    So I'm trying to start up the flathead after a 12v conversion. The starter stays on! How can I tell if its the ignition switch or starter?

    How can I test to see if it is the solenoid? As soon as I turn it off it disengages.

    It sounds like you have the solenoid wire connected to the run terminal instead of the start terminal. With so little information about the car and the parts that you are using, that is purely a guess.

    This is how its connected:
    Ignition Switch Starter Relay
    IGN <--------------------------> S post on relay
    BAT <-------------------------->Fuse panel, connected to battery
    ST <-------------------------->Coil (+ side)
    ACC <-------------------------->Fuse panel

    HOLY SHIT! Looking at my last post I realized I had two wires hooked up backwards! ST from ignition switch goes to S post, and ACC on switch went to coil positive! IT'S ALIVE!!! Thanks guys!
