Denise, I know it was tons of work, but thank you for sharing the adventure, dont forget to remove that HRLC plate from the back of Big Olds, (if I read your post correctly, that was a 'fun' plate vs. the other one)

Right back at you Chaz, meeting you guys was definitely a highlight. However I don't think we held a candle to the Finkosel! I wish we could've gotten over to Denise's earlier to chat with you guys more, but we hit the Atwater Brewery and got sidetracked by really good beer and a really awesome bartender. Joe, she still hasn't called. :( Lol.

Wow, that's a lot of action for four days! I think I am still recovering. I really don't know where to start-- from cleaning Big Olds, to meeting the Montana crew, hanging out with the HAMB gals, eating HAMB crack, White Castle and jello shots in series, seeing old HAMB pals, meeting the boys from the NC and watching Big Olds take home a trophy, it was all FUN!

Definitely I time I will remember for the rest of my life!

Awww, I feel terrible:( I will take a picture tonight and post it tomorrow. I absolutely LOVE both sides of my purse. Matter of fact my mama does too, she has already carried it to a party one evening!:D
X-tra thanks to VonDust for his pretty pink striping!

and just like I suspected, your cabbie called my cell phone at 6am when he was sitting outside the house waiting for you. Good thing the party was still going on cuz I get cranky when I get woken up from a good sleep.....just ask EvilFordCoupe, by ex best friend:D

I've got two matching photo frames like that:D My original plan was to use them on Big Olds but the bottom of them came too close to the top of the grill bar and it just didn't look right....so, I did the next best thing, I made a craft project out of them and get to look at them everyday.

The door has been striped over the years by striper friends and artist, it's one of my favorite pieces.

My plan is to get one of those chimmy sweep companies to come out and clean my furnance, ducts and button things up. I have never had it done and I've lived in the house 18 years, so it's time.

Thanks for the invite sweetie. It will happen sooner then later. You guys are the greatest, I had a BLAST hangin with you all . xoxox

You don't remember cuz after you screamed and your ass fell into the sink, you ended up with your knees around your ears and were too busy trying to balance that you missed it.:p

You do realize I'm going to, right?:D

Glad to hear you're back on track. I'll see you in Sept.

We are going to have some fun there!

Thanks for the reminder bud, I actually have forgotten to swap it out.

You should have been sweetie. The offer of a place to crash will always be there.

Yep, I remember him every day now when I look at my ruined chair and ottoman. I guess it could have been worse, it could have happened while I was on my Speed Week Adventure and gone for two weeks. Gives me chills just thinking of the damage that could have occured if he had a longer period of time inside the house.

The show, the party, the experience.......other than me being more than a little under the weather the trip couldn't have been much more fun. Good times, great people.....as always.

What a hoot - I wasn't anywhere near Detroit and still had fun! More proof that if you can't go, send Denise. A great story, well worth the wait. If only the squirrel pics would load. Thanks again, Denise.

    Denise,

Thanks for sharing, it was almost like being there.

Now, I don't want to scare you or anything but it seems like every time you stop to get a picture taken a crowd of rejects from a Camden County parole board hearing jumps in behind (and sometimes next to) you. I guess with your level of fine-ness, going out in public without a security detail is a risky proposition. Just be careful out there, okay?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
    Luv ya lady!
    Wish I had been there!!
    Digger aka Dave

As usual, awesome thread Denise! Big Olds looks great. Congrats on taking home your award. The real reward is getting to cruise in that beautiful car. Jesse and I had a blast in Detroit. We're hooked on the Autorama. Maybe we'll even bring a car up one of these days. We'll be looking for you this summer.

    Denise,

The big Olds looked great. I took a few pictures but, unfortuately, we didn't have the opportunity to meet you. I've always been an Olds guy and learned to drive in my mom's '53 88 2 door sedan. Your car just keeps getting better and you deserve all of the awards you can get. I hope you keep it forever.

Thanks for all the kind words Tom. I should have cloned me for the weekend therefore one of me could have hung out by the car all weekend meeting people and the other me actually could see the show and entertain the out of town folks. Way too much fun stuff going on in one short weekend.

I'll be at quite a few Ohio events this summer so we'll have an opportunity to actually meet and chat Oldsmobiles.

I'm hoping our paths cross this summer as well. I'd really like to meet Julia and chat hot rods with her.

What can I do to convince you you need to attend Speed Week this year?? I'll make cookies JUST FOR YOU! xoxoxo

Those Camden rejects ARE my security detail!:D

So....sounds like you're sucking up for cookies too:D By any chance you heading to the NSRA Knoxville event in May? Big Olds and I will be there.

I got a question for you....were you or Chuck the last one to hang out with those teddys? Trust me, I didn't miss what one of you guys did.;)

Once again, thanks to everyone for all the kind words regarding the post and Big Olds AND stay tuned for coverage from the Lonestar RoundUp in two weeks.:cool::cool:
