    a '62 Chev Wagon + cash ??

Possible deal : '62 Chev Bel Air Wagon, 6 cyl, PG, ps, pb, good body (as good as my Riv anyway) + around $2,500 cash. Always liked '62 Chev wagons.....but I always liked '63-'64 Riv's too.... the spare cash would be nice (pay down some debt).....what do you guys think ??? Damn ! I wish I could have both...

Last weeks AutoWeek showed an average condition '65(?) Riv selling at auction for just shy of $40,000.

That better be one fine wagon, or the auction Riv price was just a fluke?

I usta drive a '60 Chevy 6 wagon. It was a cool ride back in the 60's-70's

    I'd like a '57 or '58 Olds HT wagon...someday maybe.

  4. It's not so much going from personal luxury to grocery-gettin' family hauler, if you dig those cars. It's going from a 401 or 425, to a 235 trying to push 3800 lbs or so around. I have to think I'd keep the Buick, personally.

I like "late great chevies" and especially wagons, but trading a Nailheaded Rivi. No way.

I see a name change in your future....

Betting it was a GS with dual fours and all the other goodies. A regular '65 Rivi in nice shape can still be had in for $10-15k

I'd keep the Buick. If you're struggling with the decision, keep what you have.

Keep the Buick. You'll get a short-term high from the wagon, but in the long run, you'll wish you kept the Riv.

'62-'64 Chevy wagons aren't all that hard to come by. If you want another project, pick one up for cheap and start working on it. They're a ton cheaper to build than Buicks, too, so the build will go quicker.

Thanks for the input guys. It's a tough decision. (the spare cash would be nice) But, yeah, I would regret selling the Riv......actually I probably regret selling 90 % of the cars I've sold. As far as pics, you've seen the Riv. The wagon is locked behind a chain link fence so I can't really get great pics of it. I'll see what I can do though. Damn tough decision I tell ya...I've wanted a '62 Chev wagon since I was able to drive but never got around to getting one. I've always dreamt it would sort of look like this (but lower with a tube grill, wide whites, chrome reverse wheels and baby moons)

Also, I know where there is a '62 Bel Air 2 door bubbletop hiding under a tarp in storage (I've left numerous notes over the past 5 years to no avail....so far....) And thought a '62 Wagon would be a cool stable mate to a 409 '62 bubbletop... DAMN !!!! So many cars...so little time......and money...
