Hot Rods from 1930's

Where can I find pic's, info. on 1930's-early 40's hot rods? Looking for books, web sites, etc. Thanks.

 

There are a few books out there of which I have zero...

As far as the net, there seems to be more websites that are stock or race car specific with the odd custom in the background but hotrod specific??......

Believe me, I have looked far and wide for hotrod pics from the old days with limited success.

They do show up here on the forum every once in a while when a member posts pics from 'Dad's old picture album" ....

Hi - There are several books that show prewar hot rods available. Look for:
The American Hot Rodder - Dean Batchelor,
Muroc When They Ran - Bill Carroll,
Hot Rod History - Tom Medley
and several of my books - Hot Rods In The Forties, Hot Rod Memories, Authentic Hot Rods and Old Hot Rods Scrapbooks - by Don Montgomery.
Although most of the early hot rod photos are in the 1940s and later, all of the above books have prewar pictures. There is a lot of good info in the books. If you have any questions please let me know. - Don Montgomery
