I've looked all around and asked the local tint shop, and I can't find orange window tint. Does anybody even make it. I've seen it before on some ricer p.o.s. but that's it. I'd like to tint the side glass orange on my Henry J, all else fails, I'll settle with red. I considered plexiglass, but all my glass is pretty good and I would like to use it.
Me too. Gonna have a white car with orange trim and lettering. Orange tinted lexan side windows should set it off. Larry T http://www.gilafilms.com/Automotive/automotive-xtreme-colors.htm Well, it was there last week.
On the Gila website; *Outrageous Orange, Hot Pink, and Xtreme Purple available through the online store Cool
Pro tint shops dont stock it, and dont want to order a whole roll just for a small job , but it is available from the professional tint manufacturers. That gila stuff looks like it might not be good quality, I wouldnt use it. This is better http://www.llumar.com/na-eng/Decorative/deco.html Or this http://www.solargard.com/index.cfm Try pm'ing Greasejunkie...he'll know
I hope you do not plan to drive your car very often, that tint will give you a headache very quickly.
We use a plexi glass shop. Soltis Plastics in White Lake Mi. It's less than $200 for six pieces. Flat side glass you provide templates. Than can do almost any color.
My windows are lexan but before that they were glass, '29 vintage. I tinted them with anodizing paint from autozone. I put 6 0r 7 coats on so it;s pretty thick but from the outside it looks great...that is if you like purple. I used tint on the lexan and it bubbled realy bad for some reason.
Did you ever get the tint? I just picked up some Blue for my truck and an application kit. I am only going to do the just back window for now. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Where did you get yours zumo? Can you get ticketed for it in los angeles? I 'm just wondering is it something that there's no way its legal, or if its something they kinda ignore, like window tint on the front windows(had this for years and never got cited). Thanks!
I went to http://www.gilafilms.com/ and the "store locator" said to go to AutoZone. I went and only found standard colors. The site also mentioned Home Depot, which is where I picked up my appliction kit. They have instructional videos on there site too that help. I found blue and red tint at another auto parts store called OReilys. Not sure if you have those out there but is pretty much the same as autozone. Either way you can order off their site. I am only doing my back window so and I have applied vinyl on various things before and know how to keep the bubbles out so I figured I could do this too.
Exactly! Find a large format digital print shop in your area and have them test out various densities of your color on 3M Scotchcal product. You can get exactly what you want. The material has a release liner on the back, strip it off and apply to the inside of the glass.
Just did the windows on Chicken Salad. Used transparent sign vinyl . My son got it from his sign supply house. Ted
Its illegal here in Cali to have emergency color tint like reds, yellows and oranges. But it just comes down to the cop anyways. The shop here in town can get orange tint. I will ask him who he goes through.
