what is the tank located next to the valve cover used for on a blue flame six. I saw a picture of it on a 54 vette.
Pictures would sure help! but like 53sled said..probably the stock Oil Filter canister.. oh posted this before you posted that...the length of the valve cover? got me on that one.. SHOW US
Yep, and only used on the vette because the radiator is so low. Similar concept to the Ford FE motors. Sure would look cool in my '46 .
hell i missed the part in his post about it being a 54 vette.. i thought it was in a belair.. i need sleep.
I think this is one of the best lookin' factory mills ever built. Everyone always whined about it not making enough power. I figger it's kinda like women, if they look good enough, they don't have to work as hard.
My neighbor stopped by the other day to show me the progress on his '57 chevy that he bought new just out of high school. As we were BSing and checking out my cars, he was telling me about the '55 8-door airport limo he had about 10 years ago. It had the stock vette 235 with triple sidedrafts, dual exhaust etc. He said it had plenty of power to haul that big old limo around nicely. I remember seeing it and figuring he just bought it for the front clip sheetmetal. Man, I wish I had that engine!
I saw a manifold with carbs, no filters, in NJ last year. Was supposed to go up on E-pay for at least 4k's
