My little brother went on vacation to NZ, ten years later he's still there, and has dual citizenship. He's moving back next month, and I can't freakin' believe I never went to visit. I ****!

I think that was very cool going to the old folks home. Also, it's nice to see a country that loves US as much as it loves our cars and culture. There's far too many countries that hate us, just to hate us

Yep well worth a trip south if you come to New Zealand. We also have a big show The Streetmachine and Musclecar Madness held at the end of January(some times early Febuaray). There is no actual theme like the Americana or Beach Hop but there is over 1000 cars of american, austrailan and english origin on show, mostly american and hotrods. Next year is the 19th event.

Wow what a beautiful country. I think it has been said before but it is nice to see people holding an American flag that isn't on fire. I came to realize just how brainwashed we are. Media portrays that the rest of the world hates us. I have wanted to go to New Zealand for quite a long time now I want to go much more.

  12. VonMoldy...

You are welcome to come visit anytime and expect the royal treatment as well. Apart from the awesome rodding scene here, we have an absolutely beautidul contry. No more than an hour or so between the hot sandy beaches and the cool snowfields.. And everything in between. Hot pools etc you name it.. But the best reason of all is the Hot Rodding scene and the people.

    Cheers mate..

Thanks for the photos, Kirk. It is refreshing to see something like that. Thanks to all you Kiwi's for your friendship, come over here and we'll try to respond in a similar manner. I've always wanted to visit for a long time and this thread just makes me want to go more. What a beautiful country.

RBM my tickets are booked - I fly into LA on August 1st and back to NZ on Oct 14th. Got no real plans apart from causing mayhem as much as possible. Will be looking for a workshop/warehouse/big shed to rent in the LA area while there - anyone got any advice?

We'll be going to all sorts of events - Bville, Reno, Hot Rod Reunion and everything in between....

Just have to get through the Beach Hop first! 1075 cars entered with 2 weeks to go until we close entries....

That looks really cool, like the US used to be. I was missing the old days just today when I had to take off work and go get a notarized form just so I can pick my kid up from school (I'm his stepdad).

Gotta love any place where you can just land a helicopter in someone's yard without catching any **** from the cops about it.

Thanks for the pix, I too enjoyed seeing people who like Americans for once.

  17. Great story and pics Kirk!

Great to see our leaders haven't pissed EVERYBODY off...Delete this if you must mods... I think if you took all the terrorists out in a hot rods to go get greasy hamburgers at a drive-in, there wouldn't be any more terrorists...

But that's just one ****'s opinion.

Great shots!!!! Isn't it amazin how much American pride there is in other countries. It sure looks like hot rodding is alive and well in NZ. Great shot of the Ridler Award in the rain for the naysayers. It sure looks like a place t add to the Bucket List.
