I am about ready to build a bed, and I would like to see some pictures to get some ideas on how to do it.
I searched this site, google,... I didn't find any pictures that really showed the beds.
    Thanks

My truck was originally a flatbed, but during the S-10 frame swap, I changed things around a bit (shortened it 10" or so , and raised it up to clear the rear tires). The only parts I re-used were the outer perimeter and the front and rear cross members. The rest is 1.5" square tubing and some wood.

I don't have any great pictures, but maybe you can figure out what I did.

FYI... it is not welded to the truck frame. It is mounted to tabs that bolt to the frame.

I don't know anything about this one except it's sitting off I45 in Huntsville. This is the only picture I have of it, and probably isn't helpful, but it is a neat truck!

...you could build a bed like this 37 Ford factory built bed with fenders underneath.

    interesting picture Rusty1

my 36 1.5 Ton came with the front fenders and running boards(which end at the back of the cab)

One idea I had was to make the bed fit between the tires (so it cuuld be lower)
and attatch some kind of fenders to the side of the bed

this truck has been for sale around here for awhile now, i think it would make for a nice mobile welding rig for me.

The yellow one is what I started with and my brother still has the blue dump.

  12. JSC,...I got an F-4 that looks just like your yellow truck, same color....or it did til I took it all apart.
...here's a flatbed I built for a 39 Chevy (with 40 grille) truck I had years ago. I used lumber that I salvaged from a house that was hit by a tornado and some from a 100 year old corn crib. I cut 55 gallon steel drums apart to make fenders under the bed. [IMG]

I didn't find as much inspiration here as I had hoped for but I knew exactly what to do when I was offered some free mahogany.
Here is what I have come up with so far.
I think I am going to inlay the v8 symbol in to it in aluminum diamond plate for traction.
