Hey everybody. New guy here from metro Detroit. I'm new to the traditional hot rod deal but I'm eager to learn. I grew up messing with musclecars mostly. However, I've always had a thing for 47-54 Chevy trucks since I was about 12 or so. I finally decided that I wanted to go old school, but with a family now, pickups aren't so practical for family cruising. So, I turned my interest to 49-54 Chevy p***enger cars. I just picked up my first project last weekend, a 1949 Chevy Coupe, down in North Carolina. It's all original, with some very amateur restoration attempts. I'm very anxious to start picking away at it, getting it lowered and doing some interior work, etc. I'm not looking to go fast or win any trophies, just want a cool fun cruiser. My brother is a longtime HAMBer and has a 52 2-door Sedan a**** other projects. Either he's a valuable consultant or a "bad influence", I'm not sure which .
Welcome from a fellow Family Man from Livonia. Had to sell my little Hot Rod to do the Family Cruiser. Enjoy the site. There are alot of people from Metro Detroit on the site

I would call myself a bad influence, or at least that is what your sister-in-law calls me when it comes to old cars. Anyway, welcome to the HAMB brother. By the way, it sure is warm down here in Austin. You will have to come down to the Round Up with us some time.
