We did an art challenge on them a while back and it got me curious.. anyone building a cool 1942-1946 chevy truck?
I've got a bunch of parts & pieces that will hopefully be a '46 Chevy p/u again one day...in storage 1500 miles away right now though...
Everyone has their own idea of cool but here is the truck I put together with my father and we like it. Almost finished. Very nice to drive and pretty quick all things considered. http://leahstockwell.com/truck/
Zach's and my olde farm truck. Had homemede split duals and ran dang good. I put an AD bed on it I got cheap. Top speed was about 55 mph LOL. But it was fun as heck on the back roads with the cowl vent open and the windshield cranked out.
zipper-z, that ****er is clean.. jay that bed looks pretty slick. most trucks I've seen sit pretty tall.. is there not much room under the fenders to tuck the tires?
I've got one of them here I've been collecting parts for. I am having a tough time seeing the beauty in the grill treatment, So I'm looking for inspiration to build one using my own meager metalworking skills. I do plan on running it without fenders, to keep with a narrow front look that I like. I'm using a 32 Ford front axle and split bones, I was planning on a set of A bones but they look to thin on this truck to me. The plan also is to make a bed for it similar to the one in Nosurf's pic, along with the single slat side boards. but a good bit lower. Not sure about the rear fenders might keep them might not, I've attached a pic of it as it sits now waiting it's turn in the build shop. Keith
Here's mine when I bought it and where it is now. I really like the art deco grill in them..................guess you either hate 'em or like 'em.
