Where did you get a copy of that???

I got it....from Rosco a couple of years ago when he was in the UK for the Rhythm Riot. I picked him up from Heathrow & took him down there, he gave me it on a demo CD!

Two of my all time favorites - "Sacred Heart of the Highway" and every time I pull onto I10 headed towards California I always turn on "Texas 10 West". Both songs by a great band named Blue Tip. The Clash's London Calling has been and will always be my favorite driving music.

Lol, mine are different than most peoples...it depends on what itme of day it is or weather it is. If its raining something like Riders of the Storm, if its at night I like to listen to some of the more instrumental Pink Floyd, and during the day cruising through downtown during the summer anything SUBLIME! I think I'm with Hooligan on this one with a few exceptions..
    Miles Davis "Kind of Blue"
The Rev "Liqour in the front.."
    7 Seconds "walk together,rock together"
And anything from Bad Religion up until Mr. Brett left, though he's back again so that may change. Generator if I had to choose [IMG] [IMG]
Those are of course the entire recordings..to hard to pick one tune
Right now, though, it's Fugazi you'd hear if ya rolled up next to me [IMG]

The other day as I was driving the blue truck out to Norco, I decided that listening to Sam Cook's "Let the good times roll" on his greatest hits album for a week straight was enough so I dug another cassette out from the box under the seat and plugged it in.
Ahh, Marty Robbin's greatest hits...El Paso, Saddle Tramp, A White Sport Coat, Big Iron, Ride Cowboy Ride....I'll probably switch to BB King, Social D, or SRV next [IMG]

Dr J you scare me sometimes, Dude! [IMG]

I remember when Marty Robbins died...I was in high school. Went to my classes that day all bummed out, and it pissed me off that nobody in the school (aside from teachers!) even KNEW who Marty Robbins was!

Still listen to my OLD COUNTRY tapes (Garth Brooks killed country music!) as often as possible...and still know the words to every Marty Robbins tune...LOVE El Paso, Big Iron, Red River Valley, Saddle Tramp, and the only reason I remember any details at all about the Alamo is because of his song "Ballad Of The Alamo"!

Marty Robbins, Tom T Hall, David Allan Coe, C.W. McCall, Johnny Paycheck, Willie, Waylon, Haggard and Jones...that's the stuff, man! Disco is fun, but old country is REAL!

Guess the secret is out...I'm just a hillbilly hiding in Motown! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I know that it came out on The Rhythm Riot cd the following year...I have the demo version that went on that CD!

As for the Riot...Nope, 6000 miles is far enough away to be a good enough excuse, much as I would love to go see Hank Thompson play...I really don't know how Robin finds em!

    Ah yes, Shotgun Boogie....

For night cruisin' I have always liked the sound of Runaway by Del Shannon.

And I'll second the vote for Green Onions, than add Walk, Don't Run.

Yall prolly never heard of a band called Flight 180, but they have a cool song (maybe a cover?) called "Look at that Cadillac". It's got a kool jazz-a-billy beat.

My iPod just popped up Little Darlin' by the Diamonds. That's a pretty cool one, too.

Much of what I've been listening to lately has been some Rockabilly stuff I've found around the web (IUMA, WinMX, etc). I really dig the Hillbilly Hellcats and a few others that aren't coming to mind at the moment. But I also found a site called www.radiorumpusroom.com and I've listed to much of their archival stuff. Very cool! [IMG] I'd highly recommend y'all check it out.

I have a whole stack of CDs I like to cruise to but if I had to pick it comes down to two right now. Number one is high energy for getting started on a road trip or cruise: The Contender by Royal Crown Revue and number two is a long-stretch-of-road kinda tune: Are You Going With Me? by Pat Matheny.
Those two float my boat the best.

I scare myself some times. I switch back and forth between the jazz station and the country station on the radio and like them both way better than the crap they play on rock stations ("LA Woman" was NEVER a "Hit record"!)

Disco is the reason I quit listening to "pop" radio and got into country/western music. (Now, I'd rather listen to Disco for the rest on my days than endure one "rap/hippityhop" recording.) [IMG]

"El Paso" was the first 45 I ever bought when I was 10 and it was a top 40 cross-over hit in '58.
