Since I dig Plowboys stuff so much I thought Id try to do a similar project to the Spacetruck. So I got me a donor '60 comet from VespaRex on here and started in about October. What I learned was
this stuff is alot harder than it seems, you guys are very talented
and I have alot to learn. Aaron was very cool about offering any advice or help I needed too Mike

That came out really cool. I love that 60's showcar look. Somewhere now there is a guy restoring a 4 door comet looking for rear quarters:D

Nice work. How about an overall shot of it? I'd like to see it from the side. There's going to be "Grote" inspired rods for years to come...

Thats GREAT! I love it! :D

I'm really into the full body fab myself...like The Punk etc...I think that area has some amazing possibilities as a simple roadster a few steps down from the full show rods that Plowboy builds.
I would have certainly tried this years ago if I'd had any idea how cool it could be!
Aaron and the others like him had great vison to see what could be made from stuff so obscure.
    awesome stuff!

Impressive. I like the "hard" lip on the rear pan. I would have [personally] chosen to smooth it in and run no bumper, but I like it. It's got "attitude" :D

  18. Very well done ! By the looks of it I would say that you're also very talented ! I would like to see more pics of it, like full side view etc etc, if possible. Any other plans for it right now ? How about a '60 comet grille up front !? :D
    Thanks for sharing !

I think Aaron has got a lot of people looking at the sheetmetal shapes that are in production cars and exploring the possibilities of combining them. Hope he doesn't patent the idea 'cause he'll become a gold chainer and we'll have to throw him outta here.:rolleyes::D

Thanks for the kind words. I studied the rearclips of many cars .I loved the canted tail lightes on the Comet and that the fact that the decklid slope is pretty rounded and seemed to suit itself well with the roundness of the 40 cab(another tip from Aaron). It was on the short list of donors when one popped up on here for next to nothing and within a couple hundred miles and 60/61 Comets arent that common. The bad news is I damaged the paintin the cove area pass side during assembly and spent yesterday afternoon at my buddies bodyshop fixing that. Here is a pic that shows more of a side veiw Mike

    That's friggin' AWESOME!!!

After seeing the side shot, it'd be a pain, but is there some way to continue the cove area to the cab corner? Just to continue those lines somehow, but why am I being critical, it looks a heck of a lot better than my junk.
