Thanks. This was over 6 months ago and though none of the local Buick guys have seen anything I would expect it to be in parts by now or at least a different color by now. There are a few details that would make it stand out though.

 

Thanks for updating this thread with the final results. Very eye opening for sure. Even though my Fairlane is insured with one of the classic car insurance companies, I think I still might get an independent appraisal just to have in my files. You never know when you might need it.

 

Well it was a bad experience but an eye opening one. You take what you can from it and move on.
As far as insurance goes, if you have "agreed value" at a value you feel is fair you will be good but you will want to update that every other year or so to reflect any gains by mods or appreciation.
So... what kind of Fairlane?
I have a 65 as well.

 

Mine's a '57 and I just finished a big round of engine/tranny swap, re-wiring and suspension work. I really need to get my policy updated to reflect that, too!
