Hello there! I've been involved in hotrodding since I was 16 when I built a 350 Vega to terrorize the locals. Since then, Ive had the pleasure to own (and fixup) a 73 Gran Torino, 75 Bronco and a 67 Camaro and the occasional bike here and there to name a couple. I have recently acquired a 1950 Dodge Coronet that was in surprisingly good condition for the price. (and age) http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i191/mayej/Dodge/1950DodgeCoronetDec92007Delivery002.png I quickly found that 'parts hunting' was a much different experience for a 50's or older car than a 60's+70's. Plus I find myself at a state of indecision as the car that I got was so complete, it's really a blank-slate for whatever I want to do to it. The only thing I'm sure of is I will be keeping the flat six that purrs under the hood. All else is up for grabs, but ideas are forming. A friend of mine whom I met thru mutual Coronet ownership told me this was the place to be for ideas, help and advice. One thing I definitely learned over the years is to not ever think you know it all. To put it the way my Dad always said, "What do you do with experts? Exploit their expertise. In other words, if ya ask a question, have the decency keep your mouth shut and wait for the answer"..lol. Just browsing yalls page I'm convinced Vince was right and this is the place to be. I will endeavor not to cramp the style and charisma I've already seen. Jef Dallas,TX
Welcome from Kaufman County! Is that the Dodge I saw on craigslist a while back? If so, it looked like a real reasonable deal.
Thanks for all the welcome's guys, much appreiciated. Slide: yes this Dodge was the one on craigslist-down in Burleson actually. Frank: no kidding with the trim on it, even the trim that's rough is at least there for me to work with, I feel pretty lucky. 50Coronet, sorry bout my horrible narrating on youtube...lol
Hey seatex, I'm actually moving down to your neck of the woods here in a few months. Make it to the Lonestar Roundup!
