Thanks to everyone that showed up!!! All I do is open the doors, turn on the lights and put the music on... Ya'll make the show, and what a show you made !!!

500 cars !!! We filled Big Daddy's backyard with QUALITY traditional hot rods. The cars came from all over the southeast, and from as far away as Indiana, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Kentucky.... on and on. Simply amazing

Ya'll also made the show a really good time. Showing up ready to have fun and finding it. Sort of a self fulfilling prophesy.

Thanks to the PoorBoys Tampa Chapter, I couldnt have done it without you guys and gals. Lots of legwork before the show, and you kept everything running smooth during the show. Thanks for working yer butts off. Additional thanks goes out to the PoorBoys from every other chapter in the country that showed up to support the Tampa Chapter. A show of what a good car club is all about.

Thanks to Big Daddy Don Garlits for letting us have the show in his backyard. I case you didnt know, where the show was held IS literally his backyard. Don loves traditional hot rods, they are his roots. He still has a few of his hot rods from the 50's and has recreated others. He brought out one of his rides and one of his race cars to the show. He fired up Swap Rat VIII to the delight of everyone there. He was like a kid in a candy store.

Thanks to all the car clubs that supported the show. Ya'll came from all over and brought some great cars!!!

Thanks to the No Where? Bar for a rustic good time. I missed out on the RedNeck tractor pull, but I heard there is a youtube video of it somewhere. The Jello Shots? fuggetaboutit. We'll work on the BBQ for next year :D.

What a show. Everyone was blown away by the quantity and quality of the cars that showed up. I rode around with Big Daddy for a little while during the show and he said, "... I didnt know there were this many of traditional cars in this area..." He was having a BLAST and acting like a big kid.

There are a few things we can do to make it a better show next year, Big Daddy and I have already started planning for 2009 !!!

From the pictures I've seen it looks like you pulled off a good one. I was planning to be there but last minute things changed the weekend. Looking forward to more coverage and hoping next year will be on my calendar.

    WOW, just, WOW!

I have checked out a bunch of photo threads and all of you did an amazing job taking my baby to the next level. You should all be VERY proud.

Alan called me from the show yesterday to tell me how many cars came and I was so freakin' happy! But not as happy as I was bummed that I wasn't there.

Like i said in one of the pics post. i was very impressed with the quality and quanity of the cars. its a whole different scene from the Detroit show but its a nice change of pace. I will be back next year for sure with my Plymouth. Great job to every one involved you all deserve it.

I wanna also thank EVERYONE that showed up for our little hot rod party at Gartlits. The crowd was unreal and you where all so nice to us as we shuffled you around to park. We where overwhelmed by the turnout and completely humbled that you chose to come to our show. We can still pack more in for next year, so start planning your winter vaction for 2009 now... :)

I especially want to thank our Poor Boy brothers that came from far and wide to help us out and enjoy the show, we couldn't have done as well without the help.

Alan and Melissa, thanks for choosing us to host your show. You guys were great to work with. I'm so happy your faith in us was rewarded. The show was simply amazing. I think next year, though, we'll have to renegotiate the contract to include free massage services for our tired old backs and legs. :D And maybe a case of Dr Sholls gel thingies for shoes. LOL
Thanks to all you folks that showed up with the anticipation of a great time. It was that. You made it happen. The pre-party was a hoot and the show was great. Glad to see so many great hot rods come out to play. I didn't see one car that reminded me of Easter eggs. They were all down in Orlando, i reckon.
Thanks to all our Poor Boys brothers for the help and support as we got our feet wet with a major show. I am so proud to be a Poor Boy. Wish we had more time together. I can't wait to see the group shots:eek:. Also, major props the the Tampa chapter Poor Boys for all the help getting my heap ready to take it's first flight. I started out with about 23 miles on the odometer and, other than a couple of hiccups, it went fine. Glenn, John, Dave and Willie were instrumental in meeting my goal of driving to this event. Thanks so much guys!
Whoever said there was no traditional hot rod scene in Florida was sadly mistaken. There are a lot of us, we just needed a good excuse to find each other. Next year will be even bigger and better.
    Thanks all, Mike

when i get home I'll post up pictures of the award winners.

GREAT STUFF and well deserved trophies.

the Best Hot Rod was a little 1929 Roadster with a Flathead that was driven from Indiana just for the event. It looked great, ran tip top and the guys riding in it had a good time getting to and from the show. A well deserved trophy. There were many other hot rods that were tip top as well... it was REALLY had to choose.

After the shit storm I started with my comments on the TRR, I didn't want to be the first to make the comparison...now that it's safe, I'll say this. Billetproof just set the bar high...very high....I don't see how anyone could possibly match what went on yesterday....incredible show, venue, mixture of cars, music, etc etc etc. WOW!!!!!

  22. So... what are the dates for next year?

This show will be on my "to do" shows each year. Thank y'all who put it on, you did an excellent job in organizing things for a first year show. Everything went off without a hitch. The only problem I heard all day was the bar-b-que vendor ran out of french fries.

A big thanks goes to Gregg as well. He was instrumental in helping me out at the Turkey Rod Run. He also stored a ton of BPFL08 fliers at his house for a while. Danke Mucho.

And thanks to Nads for being supportive and bringing his rockin band to the show!!!

I had a great time as well. I too drove from Indy just for the show and was happy I did. I appreciate all the work that went into to making it a fun show with a great variety of quality cars.
