Looks out of place to me, especially with the wood. The gauges are pretty mismatched as well.

 

That wheel goes more into the 60's.. Not for a tri 5

Rest of the setup ? The car has parts from fads of 5 different decades.

 

It is a 65 Mustang Deluxe steering wheel right....if its original take it ofF sell it and get something older...

I dont care for it either, get rid of the billet pedals and put the original instrument cluster and it would be ok.

 

Lose the wood, In my opinion the same wheel with Black or Red Metal flake would look better. The gauges bother me more then the steering wheel for some reason.

Only my opinion, but I also despise those wheels. I didn't like them in the 1970's and I still don't like them. The three spokes are good but the riveted wood makes me puke. Just my opinion and I know what it's worth in the big picture.

That is an aftermarket wheel, maybe from Grant.

 

I think that is one of the old Grant wood wheels from the 70's. I had one in the 48 at one time and would not ever have another. They tend to get slivers when they dry out and the holes for the rivets are not comfortable on your hand. If you have to have a wood wheel I would get one of the older narrow Nardi wheels. Expensive and a bit hard to get hold of but very classy and comfortable. Horn kits are a available to swap them to the 55 column. Think the wood wheel in a late 50's Porsche or Jag.

 

If it was an old Mustang wheel, I would take it off and sell it and buy one of those small original looking wheels and still have money left over.

 

The wheel look too european sportscar-esque to me. And I'd have to agree with the others. Lose the guages and pedals. Everything else looks great though.

 

That's quite a mix of eras in that pic. It's a fifties car, go fifties. The style is timeless.

 

It's not *Old School* at all.........it's just cheesy.......lose it for something like an Impala wheel.......

the wood looks bad there is no other wood on the dash so its out of place,an impala steering wheel metal flaked white or red would look awesome,the pedals belong on some*****py 80s pink and orange painted, chrome grille powder coated street rod. take the tach off the steering wheel and go with some classic gauge clusters or refurbish the originals,hide the stereo,keep it looking old school ,those interiors were all class.

 

I myself would go with a larger red and chorme wheel, wood looks out of place to me, its a little too late 60s musclecar for that classy (and bright) interior

 

Tach and steering wheel look early '70s,
fuzzy dice and brake pedals from the mid '80s,
and gauges from the late '90s.



What "school" was this again ?
