[ QUOTE ] Yall prolly never heard of a band called Flight 180, but they have a cool song (maybe a cover?) called "Look at that Cadillac". It's got a kool jazz-a-billy beat. [/ QUOTE ] Stray Cats
"Fixin' to Get into a Head on Collision" by Strap Me On Betty is a great song, kinda hard to find though. It's on the Deranged Puma label. Here's the lyrics marq. The Viva's purrin' like a kitten baby Gonna drink me a couple more Newkies maybe Been popping pills since 10.45 Man it's good to be barely alive I'm fixin' to get into head ooooon Co-Li-Shun Repeat chorus 8 times My underage girl is puking crazy Too many bags of chips and gravy I checked my brakes back in '77 I hope I die before the 7-11 Repeat chorus 16 times.
Hahahahahahahaha nice one nads ,i gotta say that sounds like a British band.My reason would'nt be the chips n gravy but the viva i had one an HC viva great free little car with junk upto and over the rear seat(crisp packets, old pies, apple cores that sorta thing.I have it when i met my now fiance and she made me clean it out almost immediatly and she aint stopped tellin me what to do since........Marq p.s that bag of old tapes was right there under all the junk and i used to play one tape till i got fed up with it and then pull another straight outa that ole bag, happy times

When I had my Coupe de Ville, I made a CD with these: The Undisputed Truth "Smiling Faces" The Spinners "Mighty Love","It's a Shame" Rare Earth "I Just Want to Celebrate" Earth Wind and Fire "September", "Boogie Wonderland" Isaac Hayes "Shaft" O'Jays "Back Stabbers" Stevie Wonder "Living for the City", "Supers***ion" The Emotions "Best of my Love" The Main Ingredient "Everybody plays the Fool" Etc. Made me stick my lower lip out and drive with my wrist. In my truck: Big and Rich "Save a horse, Ride a Cowboy" Local station plays it every 15 minutes, and I'm not tired of it (yet). Velvet Relvolver "Slither" Welcome to 1991 Jimmy Buffet "One Particular Harbor" I LIKE living in Florida Tom Petty "Running Down a Dream" Makes my right foot heavy.
Green Onions in the hot rod... but neither one of my hot rods has a radio... so it plays in my head when I drive. In anything else, it's Frank and Dino... lately. Sam.

Mike you should be killed for even mentioning Jimmy Buffet. All Parrotheads must have their necks slashed!!!!
Every once in a while I get in a weird "alien" mood and put on some Lonnie Donegan, or The Shadows or The Tornadoes. (Marq knows who they are..)
Jimmy Buffet Sat on a tuffet Writing songs that are lame. Along came admirers No brain insiders That **** Jimmy off sideways
The Shadows, now your talkin' DrJ. There was some goofy TV commercial a while back were Leslie Nielson says something like "Who's that lurking in the shadows?", and out pops Hank Marvin. I don't think many folks 'round here caught on to that one.
jeeze Dr J you are well schooled in English rock n roll/instrumental groups but what about johnny kid and the pirates?if you aint got nun then you should get some. The best is "casting my spell on you " and"i can tell"................Marq you remember when the shadows were with cliff richard?his early stuff was way cool
Marq, I knew about the Shadows history with Cliff Richard, but I'm not really familiar with any of that music.

Right now it's the entire Billy Bacon and the Forbidden Pigs CD (Yes, even Ay Mi Yaquicita) Or Hot Boogie Chillun's Black Cat Bone...
I always dug driving to Slade back in the 80s..."Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply"!! Great album...goes beyond "Run Runaway" and "My Oh My", there was a whole racing/driving fast element mixed into that LP as well... "Sittin' here in my Big Machine, I'm ready to explode... Looking out of my helmet at the faces. I've been wondering all night long, If I will live or die, And already the tension's getting to me..." That song faded into "Speeding In My Dreams"... "Ever since I was just thirteen, Had a crazy reoccuring dream. To be faster than the speed of sound, It was the only way to get around, oh yeah! Seventeen I p***ed my test, I never settled for second best. Knew right away what I'd like, It was a 750 motorbike, oh yeah..." Then there was "Slam The Hammer Down"...a hard driving screamer that MAKES you top end your ride before you realize what you're doing!!
Another vote for Radar Love - first song that popped into my mind when I saw the topic. Rebel Rouser was close behind. After a bit of reflection, almost anything by David Allen Coe, ZZ Top (early years especially - although they are back to their roots), Ted Nugent, AC/DC, or Bob Segar Absolutely anything by Lynyrd Skynyrd. ALL of the early Black Sabbath

Since my '53 isn't road worthy yet I can't really say that I have a favorite cruisin' tune as in something to listen to when I'm in an old car, but when I'm out in the garage one of my favorite songs to listen to is Hot Rod Queen by Deke ****erson. I also will throw my buddy Lonnie's CD in...The Delstars - The Sound of Power. As far as everyday stuff goes that varies immensely. Everything from the new Slipknot CD to Big Band and Swing music. I also like Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys. In fact one of my favorite mp3's isn't even a song, but Jello Biafra on the Oprah show tearing Tipper Gore a new ***hole about censorship in the entertainment industry. Man that guy is one smart dude. Anyway there's lots more I could list, but I'll probably already catch hell just for even listing Slipknot so I'll stop for now.
For blatantly obvious reasons, I have radio delete in both the 59 and the 40! For those who don't know... . . . . . . I'm deaf (yes... for real) Travis
Need a black cats bone just to bring her back home.......yeah thats a cool tune but Ronie dawson up jumped the devil is a great tune to drive to,it just makes you go a little faster.....................Marq
