I should still have it somewhere. I can try and dig it up... Sold the Rambler 4 years ago so it may take some digging...

  2. My babysitter just moved outside of Lejeune to be with her boyfriend who is stationed there...she rented 3/2 townhouse in a nice community for 650 per month plus utilities which are cheap...I am trying to get back there to...we own a house in Mooresville but can't get our place her sold...good luck with your move

If you run find it that'd be great, if not, it's no big deal. I'll just keep my eyes open on ebay for parts.

    WILMINGTON.
I have had this idea in my head about moving myself, family, and shop out of Hell-A and living somewhere nice and decent like Wilmington, NC. Any thoughts? Anything to do in Wilmington that you guys would suggest? Car culture? People needing work done? Are people in that area in need of a good shop? etc
    etc
I have a good thing going on in LA, but the cost of living is ridiculous, and after the fools gold has quit sparkling, it seems like a silly place to spend the rest of your life.
Thanks for any info or opinions

Oh my gosh, what a long drive. I'm in Richlands now, I'm debating on bringing my coupe up here (just dropped 1550 for my daily to get transported). Anyone in the area???

  9. Chucklehead...good luck with the move...we too are trying to get out of Dago and get back to NC (Mooresville to be exact)...our old babysitter landed outside of Lejeune and rented a place two blocks from the beach, townhouse, new, 2 car garage for 750...so whatcha gonna do with the extra cash or better yet whatcha gonna build with the extra cash? Check out Cruisin' Carolina magazine...don't have the link...they show where all the cruises, shows, etc are in and around NC and SC...hope to cross paths with ya...

  11. Welcome to the Tar Heel state. Here's the link to Crusin' Carolina Magazine. http://www.cruisincarolinamagazine.com/

The Auto Fair Seap meet is coming up the first weekend of September at Charlotte Speedway. It's one of the largest and best swaps in the southeast. I spent some time in San Diego in the late 80's. There is no comparison...hope you enjoy your stay in NC

We are in the process of moving the main shop to Wilmington, NC. right now.
I am keeping a smaller location in LA also.
Warm weather, affordable housing, nice people, a little surf, some old cars, Maxton, ..... sort of like LA in the 50's and 60's.

I just put a contract on a bitch'n $240,000 house that would have cost me $950,00 in LA. And I am looking a shop shop for $300,000 that would be $1.5 mill in LA. The move is going to save me 710 plus 1.2 mill, so it will save me almost 2 million for the same standard of living off the get go. Thats a lot of clams I didn't have, and don't have to work for. PLUS that is about 2 mill in mortgage I don't have to pay interest on, which means that is about 2 extra million I don't have to pay in interest to the bank on top of the 2 mill borrowed, so that really saves about 4 million!
That is a lot of hot rod parts!

I look forward to meeting some more folks in the South.

Wow is all have to say!

I'm still debating on my coupe, wife says leave it in Texas and you can buy a project in NC, bring it to NC and don't buy anything? So I think I should surprise her with the coupe and a project at the same time! Hahaha

Hope I get to meet some of the NC HAMBers.

you can keep the coupe at my house...

    I love that car man

  18. Sakowski...don't forget the savings on property taxes...my taxes here in San Diego are 1.25 in Mooresville they are only .44 (individual results may vary by county but typically at least 40 percent less than California)...gas is cheaper...utilities on your home and business are way cheaper...even eating in Restaurants are cheaper though it's hard to find a nice carna asada back there though my sources are ferreting through some places and have a few tips...Chucklehead with some of the savings mentioned above not to mention the housing/rent savings bring the coupe and get a project...tell your wife it's gonna be a good way to meet some new friends
