Next time an old lady sneers at your ride, maybe she's just being critical of your choice of wheels!

Easy to forget just how cool thes ol folks could be back in the day - and prolly still are on the inside. Respect to your gran and thanks for the pics.

umm, didnt they only make like 12 1937 ford converts? thats pretty wild if you grampa had one. that is a ford right? i havnt completely lost it have i?

my grampas dad had a 1934 flyingcloud at one point. But when he was "courting" my grandma (as they say it) in 1948 he drove his dads 1929 Es*** Rumbleseat coupe. Sorry no pics tho.

those are awesome pics tho, and im lovin the stance on that 36. shots like this make great reference shots to how it was really done. I love seeing these photos, keep em comming

I love this. I just saw my grandpa's cars in pictures yesterday......it's the best reason to keep celebrating Easter.

My grandpa had the first hotrod in town, a souped up rpu and my grandma drove a 53 Ford Victoria. Pink and black with a conti kit. Lakeside pipes and spotlights.

Now I know why I'm such an even balance of go fast and look good.:D

Suffice it to say, my name isn't Huges...lol. I'll scan it when I get home and put it on here, pretty cool pic. Cuffed jeans, ducktails, rolled white tshirt sleeves and all.

Is that a hard top on a roadster?

    These pictures are the best.

Thanks! Your pictures are awesome as well. I love that '37!

Yes, it is a hard top on the car, which started out as a 1936 Ford roadster. My grandpa called it his first attempt at a kustom which he "failed miserably" :)

No pictures, unfortunately. My grandma's last boyfriend before my grandpa was a fellow named Stebbins who drove a Cord. He was some mucky-muck with the CCC. My grandpa was an Air Corps Lieutenant who drove a stock '38 Chevy coupe.

Don't know much about my other grandparents. That grandpa worked at Saginaw Steering Gear during The War, however, and was a lifelong GM man. My mom's oldest sister, however, drove a '57 Ford ragtop with gl***packs. She would have been a hot rodder if she hadn't been born a girl. She once told me that she'd wanted to be a mechanic.

For those interested in what a 1929 Es*** Rumbleseat looked like, there are some pics on my site. These are of a roadster but I have the original sales catalog photos for all the 1929 Es*** cars on the site.
Would love to see a history thread like this for the Es***
