Thought some of you flatheaders might like to see the blower motor I built and just got installed. With the help of my son, we got the motor back in, carb set and went for a ride. Whoaaaaa, what a ride. I didn't beat it as I'm still checking head retorques and such but man does it pull. You who have a blower know what I am talking about. It doesn't feel like I'm being pushed down the road but PULLED down the road. The response is incredible. Can't get rid of the grin. lol Fourdy Oh, I'm applying for a patent on the invisible engine stand.
Looks like a lot of fun! It makes me happy every time I hear there is a son or daughter involved in hot rodding! I've driven my fare share of fast cars, and I know what you mean about being pulled down the road. There ain't no better part of a drag race than the first 60'!!
Saw your photo album on the engine build. Great work on this motor. Love the relief and a lot of polishing time and patience here as well! Good job! After all that work, I can imagine you are happy to be driving it again!!
Thanks for the words. Garysgun - The block is a 49-53, stock merc heads, 3 5/16x4, Max1 cam, adjustable lifters, ported, relieved and polished, full flow oiling, exhaust & intake ports matched to block, Fenton headers, Joe Abbin blower with Street Avenger 570 carb. Mallory dual point dist. with MSD box and boost timing master. Center main support. I have all the parts to start another blower motor but will use offy heads and chev valves. I'm still learning and love it. Casey - I do have a movie of the startup but have not figured out how to post to youtube. I signed up but can't seem to figure out how to make the file small enough to post. A little confused now but will keep at it. Any suggestions? Blown49 - I will pm you with some questions if thats okay? Fopurdy
