Recently my computer crashed, had to replace it and lost a lot of saved info... A year or more ago, I had found a website that would give you angular calculations of the cuts to make when using a chopsaw to notch tubing. You would provide both tubing sizes and the angle of the intersection. I have been unable to locate the link again. Has anyone else seen what I'm speaking of? Thanks in advance, Mike
Try this, lots of pix and very helpful: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=456800 There is a link in that thread to a program called winmiter which is very helpful too.
Hey thanks beyond... I actually have found that page inb my search and have it bookmarked, but I'm still looking for the sight that had the "calculator". Mike
ca, Thanks. That's good, very similar to tubemiter.exe. Still what I 'm looking to re-find was for chopsaw use. That calculation did'nt require either tube thickness, just Outside Diameter and the angle the tubes meet at. You scribe or draw a line done the length of the tube to be mitered. When the tube/pipe is laid up in the chopsaw, this line is on top. The calculator gives you a l/h cut angle and a r/h cut angle if the intersection is anything other than 90'. The "point" of the cut is put on the center line you scribed on the tube. Anyone else? Thanks, Mike
