If you're going to pull a gun on someone you better have the balls to pull the trigger. You guys talk of teenagers and feeling sorry if you killed one but, what about protecting your property? You don't have to kill them just hold them for the cops. A shot to the knee will suffice if necessary but, I always said if you shoot someone you better kill them because they are going to come back with either a gun or a lawyer and you're going to pay them the rest of your life. Next time close the ****ing door.;)

When they took your wife's purse, were any keys in it? May need to have locks changed.

You can believe that everytime you work on your projects someone is "checking " you out. Everytime you pull out of your garage/shop/house, someone is checking you out. Thieves routinely "scope out" neighborhoods to steal from. They do not want to waste time in depress area.

ain't it a wonderful world we live in where people who broke into your home have rights. shoot a burglar and get arrested and then sued .. what the ****?

a neighbor of mine got arrested for firing his shotgun to scare off an intruder. they were in the back yard. so I guess you have to wait until they stab you first before it's OK to shoot.

anyone who owns a gun and keeps it loaded in the house needs to get the book "how to own a gun and stay out of jail" .. I got mine at the shooting range/gun store.

I feel for ya man, that is a tough thing. I had my place broken into a few years back. Lost about $80,000+ and insurance covered nothing.
I have had cars broken into but that was the first for someone being IN my home. That is an aweful feeling. Was really hard for my wife, and we weren't even home! I can't imagine the loss of peace we would have felt if we were home at the time!
As for everyone wanting to shoot people... I know guys who have shot people. (cops) and it stays with you for life. They are not the same people they used to be. And these guys shot in self defense. They all said they would do it again, because they had to, but would have rather called in sick that day.
Now, I'd be all for giving a punk kid or tweaker a good tune-up before the cops showed up. "Officer, he was resisting" :)
I'd pull the trigger if I had to though.

That is SO true. I got mine when I took my CCW courses in OC. That is a great book. (the one I had was for CA laws) It is a MUST have for anyone who owns a gun in this state. It changed the way I thought about things that is for sure.

my 16 year old daughter is book smart but when it comes to common sense she is dumb as a box of rocks!! she leaves our garage door open all the time, all hours of the day and nite, and like yours its attached to the house. fortunately we are here all of the time but there is no telling how many times we cruise through the sunroom and find the garage wide open. and we never lock the door that goes into the garage from the house so it could be open season. ive done everything but beat the kid trying to get the point across but she cant grasp it. i think its because we live in a really nice neighborhood and nothing ever happens here but all that is is a false sense of security. but we have the alarm system and the house is pretty well lit with spot/yard lights and the early warning devices (1 Irish setter, 1 Pomeranian, 1 Chihuahua) but if some one really wants in the house they can get in. im just keeping the honest thieves out!!!
