Well my wife and I are moving this weekend to Canton Texas. I will be going from living in DFW my whole life, to living in small town Texas. I'm starting my new job monday at Hatfield Restorations. My dream is a reality. I will be doing what I have always wanted to do. I won't have any internet access for a while so I'm going to miss out on my addiction... The HAMB. Thanks to Ryan for this great site. And thanks to all of you who I have learned so much from. I really appreciate it. If any of you guys are out in East Texas, stop by and see me. Also come out to our open house on April 19 from 10 till 2. Free hot dogs and sodas plus tons of cool cars. I'll be there so stop in and say what's up. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247856 Pete
Cool! Nothing like having a job you like going to every day. I will see you at the open house. Tim @ www.irrationalmetalworks.com
Good Luck buddie. It's hard to leave what you know behind but it's sound like you are making a good choice. Enjoying your line of work makes the grind all that much easier to deal with.
Congratualtions! If you start gettin' D.T.s, you might get some temporary relief from the computer at your local library.
It's comming along pretty well. Just fighting the rust and the body damage right now. You said it! See you there! Hahaha I'm not sure if a town with a population of 3,292 will have a public library!! But I will keep that in mind. Well, See you on the flip side! Over and out.
Good luck with the new job. It's a wonderful job if it pays well enough. I myself had to get out of it to make a real living. I will p*** on my old saying to you thou. "I DO FOR A LIVING WHAT OTHERS DO FOR A HOBBY" and it can be a great living. Best of luck.
You have landed the dream job in a great location. You are going to miss DFW traffic ... not! Their black & red '29 roadster at Good Guys was killer. Best of luck!
Small town living....................New guy in town pulls up to a gas station and asks the guy what kind of town this is. Gas attendant says "what kind of town did you come from?". Guy says "small town with real nosy people who are hard to get along with, couldn't wait to leave". Attendant says " you will find our town just like that one, best move along sonny." Next day another stranger pulls up at same gas station and ask the same question. Attendant asks him what kind of town he came from. Guy says "oh, we hated to leave. Loved it there. Nicest people on earth. Do anything for you." Attendant says "welcome to our town, it's the same way here too. " Good luck to you Pete (not your real name).
Good Luck and we wish you the best. AHH playing with cars for a living welcome to my world. Now if I could just get the knot out of this rope!! Screw it I'll just stay on the chair until someone comes in>>>>.
Cool man. You're getting closer to my digs all the time. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump to come over to Shreveport for a little Cajun food. Watch out for the McCoys though. Doc.
It looks like you will get there just in time for the April first Monday Market. The traffic gets a bit busier then. Congrats on the new job and the move.
Good luck with the move and your new job. Glad to hear you're going to be doing something you have always looked forward to. If you really begin to miss the net, get a hold of Hughes Satellite they can hook you just about anyplace in the country with their satellite internet connection. Last time I checked it was kind of pricey but if you are having serious withdrawl and there is no hi speed land lines to be had, it might be your ticket back to sanity.
