Sorry, I don`t have pics . . . I know, I know .... I`m just looking for a ballpark dollar figure for the typical market value of a 29 Roadster. It was pretty nice about 2 decades ago and has been sitting in a garage for the past 8-9 years. It has a 302, C4 and is done in basic street rod style. Not many more details. It hasn`t been started in a few years and will need usual items - battery, tires, etc... The paint and interior are "ok". It is for sale and I`m looking at it Sunday. Thanks guys.
I'd buy all I could find at that price.....condition is going to be the deciding factor on price...any rust? Complete car? if it was a nice rod 20 years ago then maybe 15K if it was more of a homebuilt just Ok roadster that has all the chrome pitted up and rot everywhere maybe 10K
I`m going to look at it tomorrow after church. From what I have been told, it was completely done back in the early 80`s in a traditional style. A little splash of chrome here and there, stock 302 Ford, mag wheels, etc... I will know more tomorrow and I`ll get pics. The guy who owns it has about a dozen more cars, mostly early 60`s 2 door stuff that have been sitting out in the weather. I may make him an offer on everything.
I really don`t think I`m gonna find anything billet on it, but we`ll see. I know he wants $10K for it. If I like it, I hope to get him down to $7 or 8K.
Well..... I looked at the car today. I was highly disappointed to say the least. It turns out --- this is a 29 Ford coupe with the top cut off, sitting on 32 Dodge frame, ***led as a 1996 ***embled vehicle. It has the typical SBC / turbo 350 set up. The car is done in 80`s / 90`s style with tweed interior, shaved door handles, rear roll pan, frenched license plate, etc... It hasn`t been driven since 2001. It has a straight axle of unknown origin and a Camaro 10 bolt rear. It`s your basic street rod with a GM tilt column, funky floor shift and parts store gauges. The guy is very firm at $10,000 and tells me that his bankruptcy lawyer is holding the ***le ... At least I only had to drive 20 minutes to waste my time.
Nothing like the false start. The other day I went to look at complete, rust free, orig paint '56 Cameo for $4k. I got there and it was a complete, rust free, orig paint '65 Econoline PU. Not even close.
