He stated that it would be imposable to get all of the rust off my model A. So I think I will get some por 15 and try to seal the rust. How many have had success with this

how would it be impossible? it's an A, there's no crazy corners to get into.

rust sealers are a last resort in my opinion. i'd get a grinder and a sanding disk and get whatever he can't get.

does he mean it'll still be pitted bad? you can treat that with Ospho... but I'm to the point where I prefer dipping to blasting... it'll take everything but concrete away...

  4. Look for another blaster.

I have used POR-15 and it is very very good stuff but I would use it as a last resort I would get a second opinion as far as the blaster goes. Willy

He may just be trying to cover his *** from a liability standpoint. If he can't get it all, he doesn't want you to come back after him for paint issues.

My thoughts exactly. You don't want to work with anyone who says that. Dipping is another option, but there's no reason that car can't be thoroughly and completely sandblasted.

  8. I would be comfortable using POR-15 on the underside and any other sheet metal that you do not plan to finish paint. You can never get all the rust. So once you have done your best I recommend using an epoxy primer. Sticks to everything and seals the surface from mosture and air.

I don't know how true it is, but I have heard over time POR-15 reacts poorly with the suns ultraviolet rays so you must paint over it. I have never had a problem with POR-15 but I have only used it on engines and ch***is.

This guy is a Joke. My uncle owns a Powder Coating Busniess and he can media blast anything. Sounds like you should find another blaster.. POR15 is garbage.
