We give up on the Rterotek 6X2 EFI, we ordered a 3X2 set up from Vintage speed. I figure for the price and time involved Vintage Speed is a pretty good deal concidering I dont have three rochesters laying around. Im not sure why the Retrotek wont work, Retrotek doesnt know either. Every time we call them they cant give us a solution even after we told them its the computer. We have had two guys who know fuel injection look at it and both had the same conclusion "it is a bad computer". I have read a few articles and it seems people who use Retrotek prefer FAST computer over Retrotek. The cover car on Street Rodder November 2007 is using Retrotek 6X2 controlled by the FAST computer,I would like to know why did he have the same problems we did?? EMS arnt cheap thats why we didnt just buy another one especially when Retrotek tells us it mite be the injectors not the computer. We know the wiring harness has bad we allready fixed it buy adding the grounds Retrotek left off. You would think after spending SIX THOUSAND DOLLORS ON A FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM your car will run top. The system looks great and would probally run great with a better computer. But we give up, now we have a fifty six hundred dollor conversation peice... Oh did I mention we have 6X2 retrotek EFI for sale its like brand new hardley ever run it looks great KY not included. YOUTUBE retrotek and hear it run what you hear is with throttle wide open

Exactly why I wouldn't run EFI on a hot rod. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Dude I hope you don't have the problems with Charlie Price and Vintage Speed that others, myself included, have had... out of the frying pan and into the fire....

and I'd be pressing Retrotek for a refund....

Though I could use the 6 throttle bodies... MegaSquirt would be the way I'd go.....

  4. My Charlie Price set up runs fucking great. 13.0s out of the box in a 3500 lb car. Reliable stuff too. Haven't touched any of the carbs in 4 years and drive anywhere. Charlie has been good for me to deal with.

    megasquirt is the way
they're just injectors man not rocket science, you need to get someone that knows what to do not just point at the computer and say "thats it"
Take it to a real FI guy

Make an offer if interested. I replaced the bullshit fuel lines and fittings with stainless. Everything still looks new.

You cant go wrong with carbs if the carbs wont work I can rebuild them with parts from a local parts house. If I had the carbs and the time I do the system my self its faster using Vintage Speed. Anyone with minimal mechanical ability can make a carb work however it takes experience to get it race ready.
