It sounded like he said that they cruised these kind of cars in the fifty's. He must have had a time machine to do that in a'60 Impala.

i went down last year in my truck the week befor just to shut a few of my friends up, (they said a 454 with 4 holes in the radiator and just water and a clutch fan wouldnt handel woodward, HA!), i parked in the parking lot by the firestone dealer, he was there, took 3 friends to help him park it, as soon as he did he was buffing and shining the whole car and it wasnt even dirty and as a joke i asked if he'd like to trade for my truck, (which it would take 2 of my old F-1 to equal half the price of that 60'), and he actually concidered it till he saw it didnt have paint, just primer.
it is bad to see your vehical after you sell it, i talk to the guy i sold my truck to and he has a woodgrain wheel cover over the 40' ford delux wheel, painted the dash & halo shaker-can white after i stressed for hours getting the red metalflake right. and he put 2 blue pilot fog lights in the grill. and more to come i guess.
now im at least glad he's enjoying the truck as much as i did, and im not mad or anything. but its kinda hard to see something you had great memories with get changed so quickly.
at least i might get the 454 for my Monte Carlo. :D

I couldn't agree more. We'll have to plan a GMB Meet & Greet this summer at the Shell station, maybe a Friday or Saturday night in June.

Eric just admit it, you're not bummed about selling the car, you're just disappointed in yourself for not getting your dry cleaning out of the trunk before you sold it.

    Absolutely Denise!

Even better yet... Maybe we could take over the Shell station, or somewhere else, and create a weekly HAMB Woodward meet every week. Maybe even alternate between Fridays and Saturdays? You rule at at organizing things like this :)

What do ya think? Plus, it's a great way for out-of-town HAMBers to join us if/when they're in town for one reason or another.

    from nowhere...

I think there's a little captain in him...
Is this the ultimate residue of the 60's?
I'm confused though, did YOU build the car he "looks for stuff in the junkyard for" or however he put it...?
Did he just install the 45 player?;)

    Well...he seems happy anyway.
And I think he's a fine, very accurate representative of the hobby.

I could go on and on about how people ruined cars I sold them, but mostly I'm just happy that everyone isn't making fun of Florida for a change. :D

After reviewing my car event schedule for this summer there is only one weekend, or part of one weekend, that I will actually be in town each month. I've got lots of out of state car events planned.:D

I would be happy to start a Meet on Woodward thread for those nights that I can be up there. Perhaps once it gets started folks will just start coming up there whether there is a post or not. I do run into ALOT of HAMB guys at the Shell station on a regular bases without even a post being made BUT sure would be nice to get some new faces and cars up there.

How do these dates look for you this summer? Once the time gets closer a post can be made.

    Friday May 23rd
    Friday June 13th
    Friday July 18th
Friday Aug 8th or Sat 9th

Obviously someone else can run with this and a weekly gathering can be arranged if there is enough interest.

    SWEEEET!!!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I think I'll just start looking for a post for every Friday/Saturday. If I don't see a post, then I'll make one. Maybe we'll create a movement :D

I'll keep those dates handy and look for ya there. I'll probably be in my 70 Polara for the first part of the summer, at least

Ya know.. In his defense, he seemed kind of nervous and there was heavy editing done too. We all have our "retard" moments.

did you put the record player in the car???

  27. Yes it was at Greater Dakota Classics. Big mistake buying from that lying con artist but I got a cool car out of the deal.

HAHAHAHA now that is funny. Feel free to let him know the car was not owned by Larry Watson. I do believe the part about the 30k though. You can also let him know that the matching metalflake cross hanging from the rear view mirror was a Christmas ornament hanging on my mom's Christmas tree one year.

Funny story now but when I had it for sale to fund my 55 a guy from a San Diego car club came up and took a look at it and said it really wasn't worth more than 6 or 7k.

Sold a truck of mine years ago to a dude, only to be passed by it on the freeway in a high speed pursuit, loaded with illegal aliens. I kept dibs on it while it rested in the impound lot but lost interest after about a year.
