Anyone have the issue of rod and custom with the cut-up rendering of an A sedan turned into a pick-up? If you do can you post it or E-mail it to me....I can't find mine and I just gotta see it again. Or even better has anyone done it yet?
Kustombuilder is in the process of building one as we speak. He's been tied up with other projects lately, but his was the origonal concept for the magazine drawing. Posies built one but everyone that's seen it says it's kind of lame compared to the magazine drawing. Frank
I know all about having too many projects. I have a 30sedan shell sitting in my storage building, been there since last aug. everytime I walk by it I have to fight the urge to grab the chop saw. I have to finish my "T" first b4 I start anything new.....but man is it hard not to cut shit up.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. After reading all the debate over this one, I feel almost guilty about doing one. Guilt's over. b in the garage cutting up an "A" if ya need me.
come on over and see it. it's in my garage!! my good buddy and fellow HAMBer JEEM is responsible for this monster. we kinda share the same brain, it's almost EERIE how simular our tastes are, he dreams em up and i build em (or want to anyway)... i have wanted to build damn near everything he has drawn or drempt up. i'm doing the "FnA" right now, a 97 GMC Yukon total Kustom that Jimmy drew up for me and was in Street Trucks (the art, the truck is getting painted right now), this one is for a customer. he is also workin on some art for a TOP SECRET roadster project i started but am holding off on till the FnA is done. good luck with yours COPY CAT!!
I was also inspired. If I eveer finish the Model Y, I'd like to do a Bantam version, except with raised fender like the old Modified Coupes. It's already short so all that's needed is to stretch the quarter window to eliminate the bulk in the corner and I gave it a couple inch chop, too. Eveeryone wants a photoshop, but scissors still work if you are looking for proportions.
looks good, It's nice to see it stickin' close to the original concept. I pen most of my own concepts around my shop( haven't met anyone as messed up as me, well until I got on board here!). Don't forget, imitation is the highest form of flattery. Dooster- that modification was unfortunatly all too common during the depression. The farmer's were known to turn coupes into pick-ups because they couldn't one for the farm. They would remove the trunk-lid and rear panel and fabricate a box into the trunk area. Over half the t's and A's that are brought back from out west come to me this way. That's why it is sometimes hard to find a good original lid.
I was up to Posies not long ago and saw the progress on this piece. It didnt look too bad. Had a lot of subtle details that went well with the truck. I cant wait to see it on the road!
[ QUOTE ] that modification was unfortunatly all too common during the depression. [/ QUOTE ] People have been shortening things up into pick ups for years. The cab of my heap was cut down from a 2dr in the early 60's by some rodder in Montana. I myself wouldn't shorten one nowdays, but it does make for an interesting look. CF
