here's some more pics of the stock model a panel i modified to fit new autometer gauges. it got late so i didn't get a chance to clean all the finger prints off but i think it looks good anyway.

    Man..that looks cool!
Looks like a nice build you have goin'...

Mills and Lathes etc are nice to have but you can do quite a bit with a drill press, belt sander...even some sharp files if you put your mind to it.

Gotta admit...I'm a SUCKER for those cheap ol' chrome/sponge steering wheels. Hahaha
Takes me back to my youth. LOVE em'....:D

The modified panel looks cool, but the add ons you've got below it look like a hangin' sack.

You took your time....measured twice, cut once...paid off - nice job, very nice.

Was about to ask "How did you hold the panel steady while cutting the bigger hole?"
Then I spotted the two fuel gauge holes (on the back) with a couple of screws holding it to the piece of wood stock.

But then the next question; "How did you determine the center point for the hole saw pilot drill??"
That started out as an oval hole! (stock) :D

i should've saved this for the next tech week!
yes i screwed the panel to a piece of wood to hold it steady. then i measured the center of the oval hole and pre-drilled a hole in the wood. you can see the hole in the wood in the picture of the press. the center bit of the hole saw went through that pre-drilled hole and everything held nice and steady. for the 2 smaller gauges i was able to use a dremel tool to open up the holes a little larger but i didn't get pictures of that.

and that "hanging sack" idea did cross my mind after i mounted it all up! lol!

  9. Hi there, could you tell me the make of those guages, or where to find them. Thanks I appreciate it. D

That was my very thought, although I didn't want to be the one to say it.
when I saw the thread there were no responses yet. but.......now that it is out in the open,...yeah looks like a man sack hangin' off the dash.
The other part of the dash looks great, nice work.
