I plan on changing to a thinner rim in the future, but need to know if the 5.60/15 tire will work on a 6" rim. Any pics would be great.
Sure it'll fit fine, may have to put them on a machine with a good bead blaster. the 5.60 means the over all width is 5.6 inches wide at the sidewall breaking point, with an actual tread width of 4 to 4 1/2 inches. it will have a small balloon look to it, but will wurk fine if u don't run too low a air pressure. ron-on, crackerbilly
It WILL fit...it WILL be a pain in the ass to mount, and it will look "balloony"... A slimmer rim would be best, but...
I don't like the look of it. Better to stick with a 4-5" rim max. The sidewall on a 5.60 on a 6" rim "balloon" out too much for my discriminating taste but hey it's your car.
Be sure to keep tabs on the air pressure if you do it. Too little air, a little to sharp a turn..............................well, you get the idea. Frank
i have had 5.60s with 6 inch radirs on the front of my model A for many miles and never had a problem.
It seems when i hear people call wheels "rims" its usually some dumbass kid from my school referring to some kind of gay flashy wheels. for example "you should put some rims on that" or "dude you dont even have rims on your caddy yet". uggh
Thanks for the info. The tires should arrive tomorrow, so I'll see how it works out. I have an extra pair of some oddball wheels that are 5" wide just in case. Too bad they're a different style. I'll get this stuff turned into a matching set eventually.
