I will be there with a few of my friends. It was a blast last year. as far as hotels goes my friend drove down and had no problem finding a room for $30 at some dive joint(clean) no name hotel. he just headed strait into bowlinggreen and found one right on the main drag. I will be camping and will highly recomend it to anyone. the showers are as good as they get and last year you could do burnouts all night long... plus if you camp there is a side gate so you can slip into the park without fighting the croud. cya there

    CB,
I may have an extra pass to get in the gate, if the reg. comes with two. My pops is down there and I signed him up to take the roadster p/u, but the flat-tow was kinda like So-What's trip to FLA.

Give me a day or two to see if he is using the other pass.

Last year was also the first year for the show, everyone knows about it this year [IMG] Just fyi..... But yeah, it could go either way, either people will cancel and free up rooms, or so many ppl will show up and decide to stay, that the town will be a black out in the hotel department. Fort Wayne and everywhere within 50 miles of Auburn IN always sold out COMPLETELY for the Auburn Corde Duesenberg Festival. It was friggin NUTS. Got to ride in a pretty cool Auburn though [IMG]

I plan to drive up on Thursday; got a room at the Comfort Inn in Glasgow. The only problem is, I don't know what I'm driving up there. If I can't get everything sorted out w/ my '57 pickup, I'll have to drive my Volvo.

Does anyone know, how crappy is the spectator parking situation, and do you still have to go to the Holiday Inn to get in as a spectator?

    Thanks, Kinky6.

As far as I know I'll be coming up by myself. That means I'll have an extra pass too. Sammy, cb, if you guys can use an extra pass let me know.

oh yeah, just like last year..if anyone needs a place your more than welcome to pitch a tent in my backyard.(..that didnt sound to good! [IMG])

also, thought id mention,,MANY of the surrounding cites around bowling green are DRY(no alchol or beer sales)
so if you want to drink and are staying somewhere else, you better get it in bowlinggreen....(i know ,,it fucking sucks)

  10. I might need a camping space. Your backyard was comfortable last year , it should work this year.Lets try not to turn the burgers into charcole this time though OK [IMG]Mike and Kris have a hotel in Glasgow but they need to be alone with each other for hotel sex.I do'nt care as long as I can use the shower in the morning.I will probably be coverd in blood after I kill your neighbors dog. Well lets just decide on a time..... 8pm-ish????

What about a spot inside the event to park, meet and hangout during the day? Kinda like our own homegrown area. I've never been before so I can't suggest a spot.

Leaving Livonia Michigan approx 12 noon on Thursday....boss is making me work 1/2 day cuz they don't find it necessary to cross-train someone [IMG] It's fun doing 40 hours worth of work in 28 hours. [IMG]

Anyone else leaving from the Detroit area or north on Thursday?

I have a group of 10 cars or so leaving Cincy Thursday morning 8:00 am. Most of us will be camping at the grounds. It looks like we are going to get a little wet on Thursday and Friday.

Just a note to those that were not there last year, (especially those that run a little hot) it takes a while to get through the line to get in. There is only one way in and it was very slow last year. Make sure you stop at the Hotel and register first as well.

    See you there,

he ain't kiding. the line was literaly several MILES long last year, and we were just going to the spectator lot. unfortunatley untill you get almost to the lot it's all ust one line down a two lane country road (paved), getting back out, just as much fun if you wait till the end of the show. well worth it for such a KICKASs show though..

HRD, i know a coffee shop you can rob if you need more cash. i'd chip in but i'm scrapin by just getting CB and i in. you got a free place to stay at Sammy's, you can throw some home made samitches in that "magic cooler" of yours and that should save you a bundle. you wanting to enter the truck??? you should. tell the boss you need an advance [IMG]...

i'd like to leave about 6am friday mornin, if you and Mongo want to stay thursday night here that would work out great, then we can head out together in the morning.

    lata...

As far as the meeting on friday night. last year there was a dinner at the host hotel.. It was a great time hanging in the parking lot. there was some flame throwers going off, garlets fired up a dragster and some burnouts. I dont mind meeting friday night but how far is from the park? I like the idea of meeting inside the park. during show hours then if we all want to hang out after the show thats fine. No matter when or where I will try to make it.

Hello to all bowlin' Greeners! From my info packet,"There is NO offsite registration, this year" Registration is right at Beach Bend park. There is a reception at the Holiday inn university plaza on Friday night starting at 7pm.. Maybe we can meet at the Kroger lot, then cruise the plaza???Anyways, Denise ,8pm sounds good. Hows that sound everyone??? stoaked, and ready, glenn

Leave the park and head back out to the interstate(where the Corvette plant and museum are--exit 28) Head south to the next exit--bout 5 miles--hit the ramp and head right toward town. It's on the right up the road a ways, up around Krystal and Wendy's as I recall(I used to spend 4-5 days a week up there in BG, but that's another story [IMG]).
Of course you COULD go around town, but I'd just get you lost with those directions [IMG]

Glenn, you just saved me a trip to the Holiday Inn ---I didn't get my pre-registration in--THANKS!

See y'all (most of ya anyways) Friday....

I dunno...I talked to the lady in CA that helps run the show and she said the first day you go to the holiday inn....i dont know......AND she said that for ppl registering the day of the show (those of us that didnt pre register) its still only 50 bucks for a car, with 2 ppl. Thats great news!!! I asked her what the point in preregistering is (generally its cheaper) and she said "just so you get the info in the mail before the show". So......We'll see when we get there [IMG]
