Well,,lemme introduce myself, , name's Gary, I'm in in the San Diego area and I'm entering geezerhood,,(60). The junk around here includes a '30 ford coupe,,a T lakes modified, (gotta move that one along) and a '55 chevy pickup. Also a few old motorcycles. My wife says that I don't need to worry about a second childhood, because I haven't grown out of the first one yet, so I figured I would check out this neighborhood and see what kind of fun you guys are having and see if I can join in.
AAh, Chicago,,I went to boot camp and 'A' school at Great Lakes,,when I was there for school we used to go to Wakeegen (is that spelled right?) and cruise the main drag,,looked just like American Graffiti,,street hemis, big block Chevys, g***er style '55s,,god it was cool! car we had was a dodge dart,,a '62 or '63 I think, with the torsion bars cranked up, a Vette style hood scoop, big and little tires and a farmall cub muffler, all on a slant six and three speed..The guy who owned it was from Oklahoma and it was cowboy cool. Another guy had a '64 Comet with a hi-po 289 and a 4-speed..it went well. my ride was a '62 Impala ss, but it was in California with my wife. This was in early '68
