Anybody have any pics of Mark Morton's 32 5W that was in Hop Up? Also some more info on it, not much in the article. Thanks Blake
It's hard to tell, but that is a modified "Street beast" all one piece, fenders, body running boards, sitting on a 78 Malibu frame. I sign company did the vinyl wrap to look like old paint. He plans on marketing it on Craigslist nationwide "Hop Rod Coup'e"
HUH? Did i miss something? Either thats a joke that i have to frame of reference to or you are talking about a different car.
Many great looking 5w's around but its a tough challenge to find a better looking one than this. If a car ever screamed HOT ROD, this is it. Frank
I wish I was smart enough, I have the pictures of Basic Bobs trip from CA back to KC driving the Jive 5 and delivering it to Swander.
Mr Swander gonna keep the vinyl wrap? John Swander...doesn't he have an RB style 5w Highboy too? What else does he have...besides good taste?
Wow! Would that be hatin' or droolin', Larry??? Hahaha I wonder does he have a site or anything...maybe Photobucket, where you can look at some pics of his cars?
From John's birthday party a couple of years back. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144261&highlight=hotrods+airplanes This if from the local paper. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=301812&highlight=hotrods+airplanes There is a video on YouTube of him racing in Neveda on the way to the salt, but I can't seem to find it right now. Cool stuff Chris! Always liked the look of his RB 5 window...well, any RB car actually...but for me the beauty of Johns is the "no excuses" use of that retro 327 tri-power. It's pretty much the same engine I'm trying to put together (with finances calling the shots!)...but it should be reasonably close. Brand affiliation beside the point... That thing must tear up the pavement and sound incredible doing it.
Here it is: The RB car. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjRG6rJofp8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BjRG6rJofp8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
That is such a cool looking coupe. Didn't know John had it now. (don't remember typing that corny joke above)
Morty told me John was its biggest fan...Im glad he owns it now. Johns RB car was the first one I fabbed on at the shop. In fact, my first task was Ken teaching me how Z the rear of the frame in their style. Its definitely driven hard, and i was there in Cali when he ran against Keiths Y block...John also let me drive it numerous times...OK, enough of my memories haha
That is one cool 5 window. The stance is right on. Any details on the suspension/wheel tire size? I have the issue on "Happinin' Stance" of Hop Up. Was it featured is any others?
