I don't do shitty work - but I also don't employ people to do it for me. The quality of my stuff is as good as I can make it - and I learn more and get better with every minute I spend doing it. However, it must be a lot easier when someone else does it for you.
Man I've got to agree. Exactly what I've been saying to my Mrs. She is with me all the way with our 51 convertible. This car is worth it and will be done right. I just hope she still agrees when she sees the bills! Dominic
wtf is your problem? are you getting a big stiffy out of telling your friends that you're being an ass to Jesse James on the internet? Yeah so Shaun did the interior, who the fuck cares... go crawl under a rock...
GEEEZ! Fuckin let it go....It's a nice Merc. 3wLarry's car wasn't built at home, but it gets all kinds of acclaim on the HAMB! Stop the bullshit. If you like it...say so. If you don't...say so. Why do some of you guys have to talk shit about anybody who doesn't build their own car? Nobody was shitting on Kirk's car, that was being done by Gambinos shop. I've built plenty of cars, but when I wanted something that I couldn't do,I found someone who could and paid him to start it and I would finish it. SO THE FUCK WHAT!!!! There are some with money, but no time and others with time, but no money. Each deals with their own situation to reach their goals. Jesse included... Little history lesson...Bob Hirohata didn't build his car!!!
Great photos. I hope you keep posting the projects you are working on. I think most people enjoy the opportunity to see what your up to.
i sold one of my #1's with the org subscription card for 275 on ebay i knew how much they were worth i was just making a sort of inside joke that prolly won't ever be read...
amen to that bro. after being in the body business for over 30 years, you get to know alot of people in different areas of the car building biz, plus the car guys you hang out with. everybody's always willing to help out in their spare time, maybe throw 'em a few bucks, barter some interior work, some motor work whatever. i tell ya what, when ya got good people around ya, use 'em, what the hell, gets the job done faster so ya can build the next one!
I've helped anybody I could when they have asked me,offering what I can and have had fellow HAMBers help me out to. Best way to be,in my book. Don't expect anything and appreciate whatever you get. Make better friends that way.
On a different note is the party or the shop open to anyone.I'll be at the roundup with my son and since we will be riding down lamar to get to congress I was wondering if it was cool to swing by and check out some of the rides.I'm by no means any type of great builder but just a car nut trying to get my chit built as money allows and I'm passing along the torch to my boy so to speak.
...and he sure drove and enjoyed the shit out of it. Amen to that. I've been watching the drama here, and can't help but think: Wasn't the point of this thread to announce a cool party, and a VERY cool car? Get over the rest of the drama, please, and let the guy enjoy his car. Perhaps when one of the drama queens on this thread post THEIR car, or a cookout at their house, we can all ride them about an over-due library book. Amazing Merc, and congrats on it to all involved. It's beautiful, and thanks for sharing it!
How do you think Jesse started? Now I'm not his biggest fan, I dig some of his stuff and the rest I think he does for shock value on the show, but I'm going to bash him. Somewhere along the line I'm sure he was in his garage tinkering with a broken POS like what you have. But he got famous doing it. Awesome. As your self-appointed sig says, someone has to clap for him. I'm still not sure what that means, but I figured I'd incorporate it. Go build something as nice as Jesse's '54 and date a movie star, then I'm sure you can run your mouth. For now, you hold no weight.
That car is amazing! I especially love the lines & curves (side profile....) and head lights also. Paint & Interior are great. Great work~
personally i like Jesse's work and being 22, wish someday i'll be as multi-talented as him. I just think is funny that there are so many haters but there the first ones to post and every post by jesse is always multi-pages like this one 13 pages and counting......... So I say "KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JESSE" i would like to meet you personally someday, and learn whatever i can from great fabricaters like you and others. Justin
got the joke Cliff.........same guy gave me an issue of that obscure new mag while under the glow of the large neon sign in his garage.....................it was the only thing I lost in last summers flood that I shed a tear for. Not because of it being issue#1 but because of how cool that weekend was KCSP1
Is that the stock back window on your merc or from another car? I need to find one that is going is going to flow just right with my '54 Chrysler....KNUX!
Ohh... that guy! Cliff & Trent -- here's one for you, Garage Mag #0.5... Stoner, Steve O and a photog (forgot his name) at the first LSRU in 2002. I can't remember but I don't think the first issue was officially out yet. <img src=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2193/2382213578_f50ae267a7.jpg />
Mr. Jesse James.. did you ever pick up sheetmetal work from an old timer by the last name of Petri ??
