After Being Without A Hot Rod For Over 20 Years, (due To Life's Twist's & Turn's). I Finally Buy One, And Not Only Pay All The Money But Never See It First Hand. Now You Say What A Real A_ _ ! . And To Add To The Misery I Take Out A Loan To Purchase It. Now I Can't Blame Anyone But Myself For This Stupid Indulgence, I Should Have Known Better, I Guess I Was Over Eager. Now I Find Myself Painting It Over Changing The Interior, Rewiring It And Who Know's What Else, ( Talk About Homebuilt Hot Rod The Guy Who Originally Built This Car Must Of Did It In His Bathroom ). I'am Even Considering Either Chopping It, Adding Rear Skirts, And Doing Some Other Minor Custom Touches, Or Maybe Leave It And Just Do Paint And Interior, Just Cause I Don't Know How To Remedy It.. Either Way I Loose. And To Further The Agony Its Going On 4 Years, And The Car Is On The West Coast And I'am On The East. I Just Cant Believe I Did This. Am I Venting ? I Guess But Being A Gearhead And Being On A Gearhead Type Of Forum I Would Hope Someone Understands Me Or Am I That Small Chosen Few That's Totally Stupid, Compulsive , Bipolar And What Ever Else You Wanna Call It. I'am Really At My Wits End With This One, And I'am Tired Of Relying On People To Help And Going No Where. I Can't Even Sell It Cause Its Partly Apart. What A Smuck!! Comments Welcome
Doing the same thing to a truck i bought last year...BUT, i'm doing it because of all the problem's that were 'hidden'...NO other reason.. Can't be upset...you own it now. If you spent all the money, never saw it first hand, and now have it apart because you were unhappy with it..just make sure when it go's back together it's exactly as you want or the ill feeling's you have now will never go away..... and in reality, they may not no matter what you do. Sometime's it's hard to lose that first feeling.. Look's like a cool car though...i wouldn't be too bent.
the color was ugly the paint flaked right off the wiring was border line dangerous, the frame was typical backyard junk, just not what i expected for 50k++
no **** just drive it looks good to me , fly out to where it is and drive it home better yet give me some gas money ill go get it for ya. ..........................edit 50 k wtf at this point just get it going safe and running good and drive it , injoy it .
Didn't You Know It Is Capitalize Every Word Day Today? TOMORROW IS ALL CAPS DAY! next day is a good one no caps and no punctuation it will be great dont you think And is that your car as it sits, or what it was, or how you want it? the above is not all directed at you, individually, just a general observation.

i had sold cars in the past to help to afford needed things , after paying for schooling for the kids and other nessesery things i felt it time to get another car, afford it i can having all the money in one shot i did not.
Bill , you need to get that home or in the hands of a local shop you trust so you can regain control of the situation.....then evaluate what you have and form a plan to cut your losses
I don't understand. The car is on the west coast and your on the east coast. Are you relying on people who are on the opposite coast to take care of problems with the car? Have you seen this car in person? If not, why? Pay a carrier to pick it up and bring it to you. Have whoever has it now ***emble it just far enough for the trip. When it arrives have it evaluated by someone who knows what they are doing and come up with a resonable course of action to get it drivable (usable). Then you will have a car that is saleable or headed in the right direction to please you. I think the car is a super start and only needs skilled work to make a killer ride. You have rare and desirable car here and even though you've made some mis-steps your not into it upside down unless its a slicked over rust bucket with a lot of sketchy work. Frank
thats a picture i found of the car on carnut.com thats just the way it looked when i bought it, however its what was underneath that mattered
have you seen the car? how bad is it? give us more details do you have the ability to do the work to correct the problems?
seen the car i have, after the purchase, thats how i determined that it really was'nt what i was after, and what it needed to be suitable. the car is in a "friends" shop
**** it up. put it back together and get it closer to where you live. I am sure for 50k it drove. so get in it and drive it. you can always repaint it later (once all the paint falls off of it). as for the wiring, I have yet to see a wiring job I liked (unless I did it and then I thought it could be done differently.). Its an old car (much like an old house.. its perfectly fine to live in, but upgrades can alway be done to improve). So stop feeling like you got taken and enjoy it, if not it will eat at you.
I cannot imagine anyone on here buying a car and not expecting to do anything to it. Yes, it might be more work than you expected, but that is just the tax for not going to see it in person. That being said, no matter how much is wrong with it, looks like a good start.
