Anyone going to the Soda Jerk cruise in Hummelstown this Saturday (1-4PM)? If the weather is good, I may drive over for an hour or two. :)

Not too far from the Creekview rd Exit of Rt 581.

If I go on Saturday, I will be driving the white '65 Nova that I had at the Hamb and eggs gathering last Saturday.

Where is it in Hummelstown ?
    On the main drag ?
I tried to find it last year and didn't ?
So I wound up in a 50's like bar in some shopping center, imagine that.

I am not a big fan of that club, and I dont have a 57 Chev or a 69 Camaro so I probably wont fit in.

im not a big fan either, they got a little loud with me when i didnt give them a "donation"
but........its something to do and run into people i dont get to see too often

so i give them a quarter (if that) at the gate :D
(i hear the money goes to the club only for their internal use)
I'm happy to give money if they're raising for some charity but not to support a club with loudmouth representatives

theres also another entrance on the other side of the gas stations thats comes into the field behind the show if you want to sneak in the back

what do you have to drive?

Both times I went to a BMC event, I took my 71 Pontiac GT-37. Its a fun driver but by no means a show stopper. I never flet like more of an outcast, and was suprised at the treatment of non club members. O well.

However, I love the venue. Its a great place to eat, and I really enjoy the ice cream. Maybe the wife and I will cruise in Friday night.

SUHR- Can you PM me with who does your lettering?

Sneaking in the back sounds good. The "donation" thing always bothered me a bit, UNLESS they are giving it to a charity. If people like us did not participate, their cruise would be nothing more than a club meeting, so why should we pay? I've never seen anything posted at those events saying money goes to charity.

i asked a few people i knew that were in the club and they said they didnt know....so from that point forward i have not paid....unless it was a piece of change to get them off my back

Joe M. , i do my own lettering do you need something done?
    i'll p-m you

Zach, do you think the donations might help offset the cost of the DJ or door prizes or dash plaques?

I understand and appreciate the effort that goes into things. A donation is a donation though. To be given at***ude when there may be a good reason that you dont have any cash on hand, just turns me off. I dont ask for dash plaques and I've never collected a door prize. I'll continue to attend and support the show by promoting it to others who may not know about it. But one person with a loud mouth sure is a poor representation for a club and a show based on a hobby thats strictly for fun.

Any of you guys still going? I may try to head over at 2:30 or so. Some things came up that will keep me from getting there earlier.
