"Scrap Drive"...only 3 months away!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rusty1, Mar 7, 2008.

  1. Only 2 months to go til the 2nd annual "Scrap Drive" traditional rod & custom show & swapmeet, June 7th,...hosted by the Tin Butchers, Inc.
...held at the Boone County fairgrounds in Belvidere Illinois.

...our club scoped out a new band (new to us) and it looks like there's a good chance we will get them lined up to play at our show.
They are really good; more info on this as it comes in.

..are you ready for the "Scrap Drive" ?

Check out the HAMB calendar or go to www.scrapdrive.com for more info.

I hope I can find some parts for my new deuce tudor project at the swap meet. There was a geat turnout of vendors last year.

Great traditional rides, a swap meet and entertainment, what more can you ask for.

Im good with the Anniversary. She can be my co-driver. lol

I was reading the rule board from last years event. Is it strictly enforced, because I might have a non-era friendly motor in the truck if everything works out. just curious.

Not sure which motor is going in the truck :)

I was thinking also, I love having a truck, if i find something at the swapmeet I wont need a trailer or so to bring it home!!!

Yep leave the hood shut if it not 'trad." friendly. lol

Yea the only problem with a truck on trips is what to do with the bags and other stuff when there is two of ya. But it makes it handy for the swap meet. :)

  18. ...as of today, there's now less than 2 months til the "Scrap Drive".

I've had lots of calls from people wanting flyers/info on our show...from entrants and swap vendors alike. It looks like our 2nd show will be bigger/better than last year.

If you have stuff to sell, our vendor spaces are only $10.00 each and the spaces are good size.

We have no pre-registration for show or swap, but if you need an indoor space, you should probly call to request one and we will save it for you.
Gates will probly open by 6:30AM or so the day of the show. Last year we had 60-plus vendors with a nice variety of project cars, parts, etc.

If you have any questions PM me or call 815-973-9304.

We're starting out a Real BBQ joint :Dsoon and was wondering about food vending at the show?

  20. ...John, we have our food vendors lined up; but if you come to the show talk to me or some of the members about setting up maybe next year; we may be interested.

...some of you will be glad to know we have "Kent's Big Bar" icecream coming this year. They are always set up at the Jefferson swap, etc,. Could of used em last year, it was hot.

    Who's the first band?

  29. ...first band is "24 Elsinore" from the Freeport, Illinois area I believe; they are a great sounding group, 3 guitars and a drummer. A bunch of our club members checked em out and liked what we heard. They are even learning new songs just to play at our show,...more rock-a-billy/country, etc. Lookin forward to hearin them again.
