i really dig this car, i can't believe it's for sale. don't think i'm in the right income bracket though. could you imagine drivin' this to pa... er... santa maria?? anyway, i've only seen a few pics of this, anyone have any others??? what do you think it'll go for?? hopefully it'll go to the right person who will let it be seen and not just sit in a private collection... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Othe...47573QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW#ebayphotohosting
"Seller" has 2 different phone numbers with 2 different area codes. Says "call me for before bidding" and "call me for payment info", etc. Could be a scammer. They are getting better at this.
It's listed as a cell # in detroit,so I am sure it's on the up and up. How come a museum doesn't already own this?
yeah notice he gives location..midwest..WTF is that ****? hey the phone number is michigan and in my area..i would call it and get a location to look at the car and see if the seller will let someone look at it for you..if its real no problem..if it isnt it might blow them out of the water..let me know i will go look at it for ya.
Hey everyone thought that the '32 coupe for like $5000 was a scam last year too, but it turned out to be a sweet deal for a hamber! Call the number and check it out. Maybe it could be your?
I'd have my doubts here also. It's either questionable or the seller doesn't have a clue. I certainly hope it's not anyones here. You don't offer a car like that for sale with no recent pics of the car overall.
where would you get the fibergl*** bumbers rechromed at? i dont know anyone that could be doing this.
Process to "chrome" plastic is called vacuum metalizing. http://www.pearlpaints.com/catalog/aboutvmcoatings.htm
You can't bid against yourself. You put in a max bid, if someone else bids less than your max, it automatically raises to the next step above their bid.
I think if i had that car it would be restored and off to barret jackson. I wouldn't want to keep it because i couldn't really drive it.
Better have a pile of money to restore that thing but it may bring a larger pile back to you. Who knows!
All the same pictures as this website. Hmmm. http://www.sharonhollow.com/sharonhollow/xm800.htm Wouldn't they have new pictures if selling it for real? Says it's in the Bortz Dream Car Collection. Should be easy to look them up and make a call.
they don't make covers like this anymore. ahh the cheeseball 80's.... anyway, called the number and left a message. let you know if he calls me back.
How about a reverse lookup on those phone numbers? If its a legit number you can find the owner of that phone account and the address .
$125,350 and no sale.... this guy NEVER called back. i called twice but made the mistake of asking (on the message) if i can see it. guess my money isn't good enough. maybe just fishing for a value on this thing. IF this is real, ebay was not the place to sell it for that kind of money (barrett jackson is ideal for these high profile cars, but it scares off scammers)
you can chrome anything you can paint. you just paint the part with real copper paint, once you have the copper base, the actual substrate doesn't matter, proceed as usual.
somewhere I have this copy of Street Rodding Illustrated,..... I remember vague details of the find, I will see if I can dig it out and see what the article says,... But I do remember it was a Michigan guy that found it.
