I've heard of it, and seen references to it. So where is it available? The local Miller outlet counter guy looked at me like I was nuts. My Dupont outlet never heard of it. The local farm supply store knows nothing of it. SO? Anyone in the St. Louis area know of its whereabouts?

I used to get it from a NAPA that had a good paint and body supply. I believe Larson Products was the provider.

Note, make sure to wear a good respirator when you weld over it. Zinc shakes are no fun.

I have recently started work for Kimball Midwest. An excellent company with a vast inventory of shop supplies. Follow the link for the weld through primer.... http://www.kimballmidwest.com/Catalog/CatalogIndex.aspx?p=2828

Please PM me or call me (727) 808-0932 and I'll get you set up. Remember my offer stands; Hambers get a discount.

P.S. I'll be at company training for the next three days and away from my computer so just call me if you wish

  13. If you buy Sherwin-Williams brand it is half the price of 3m brand. The Sherwin-Williams doesnt have NASCAR on it, thus half the price.

I use the SEM brand exclusivly...after trying 3M (clogs), Evercoat, Dupli-color, Eastwood and a couple others. SEM sprays well and welds nice. I just bought a few cans from TP Tools, they had a special and was cheap even after shipping, or check smart shoppers in Louisville. Dont buy anything that has been on the shelf forever.

Same here on the 3M (clogging). Been using U-POL lately with good results.

+1 on the WURTH Alu-Zinc, I've used others and this is by far the best. If you have a WURTH salesman in your area check it out.

The 3m is the best. It's expensive and it only clogs when you don't shake the shit out of it for a minute. After that, the wurth is good or if you can get it, dan-mig is good too. Any body shop paint supply store should have it.

I get mine at Fleet Farm, Mar-Hyde brand...about 4 bucks a can. If the nozzle plugs, I remove it and blow compressed air through it.

I have had good luck using the Krylon Zinc rich primer. It is a lot cheaper and you can get it at any parts store that sells Krylon...

ran body shops for over 15 years and no other product works as well as the wurth. you can really see the difference when a repaired car comes back 10 years later and the pinch welds are coming apart with rust from a crappy weldthru primer

I think most use zinc, but I just bought some U-Pol and it has copper instead of zinc. Anyone used it?
