I love Roundup. Last year was my first. Since then I have occupied myself with putting my Apache on the road and X-ing off the days on the calendar
until Roundup 08! I got the truck on the road just in time. The shake down journey was Friday night going to Roundup.
I really wanted to test myself so I left Houston, late (7:00 p.m.) without any caravan, in the dark, in the rain, without any tools.
Made it there and back just fine.

Honestly, I could go to round up every weekend of the year. I just put a big "X" on my calender for
today and have begun my Roundup countdown for 2009!!

Enjoy my 08 coverage of Roundup just for you HAMBers!

Loved this truck. Great color combo. Clean simple execution. That kind of
    stuff gets me every time.

This guy, Fast Eddie, (the one missing a head in this pic) he found a cowl and built the
rest of the roadster pickup he is leaning on from scratch. Cool guy. Talked to him for a
good 10 minutes, and told him how much I admired his sills and thanked him for the
posts he has put up on the HAMB.

Oh, yeah, the 27 roadster... He built the entire body and frame out of sheet / plate steel.
Even stamped a 32 reveal into the frame rails. Truly amazing, to me.

This is the roadster pick up I'm talking about, and Fast Eddie is the dude in the bandana.

Some day I'm going to build / restore one of these tear drop trailers. They are just
cool, and it would be great for going long distance to shows.

Out of all the great cars there this had to be my hands down favorite.
Tons of little PIA details, everything done well. beautifully flawless metal work.
Only problem is a few flash rust spots where I was droolin' on it.

This thing looked like the real deal. ... I hid my 12 oz. beer when I walked past, just in case.

You couldn't swing a dead cat without hittin' a duce there were so many.
And this was one if my faves. Looked good from every angle and I like the red oval.

These bobber trucks were everywhere. Lets face it they are the last affordable hot rod.
Most of us can still s****e together the coin for a 30s or 40s truck, and I like em' more every time I see one.

This Plymouth coupe was hiding behind a shade tent. Nice little ride. I've always loved these ****ers.

Brian's 29 was real cool. New interior and paint just forced a smile onto your face. He nailed the stance, with a low, but not too low ride.

This Chevy was just cool. Don't see many of them but I believe there were at least three of four 30's Chevy coupes there. Fun to see them.

Just wanted to add a few - I took over 600 pics this weekend! Even with all those pics - I somehow managed to miss a few very nice rides.

It was great finally meeting some of you, looking forward to next year.
