F-situation, another issue that lights me up are the a-holes on little rice burners. Every time they wanna prove theyre better than you. WTF

  2. I'll second that, and add motorcycles, and old cars. There is a good chance that someone driving any of the three is liable to pop you one for*****ing up their ride! I don't know how that guy driving that Merc that got rear ended last week held it together.

A cell phone jammer...what "music" should it transmit?

doesnt just happen to old cars, sounds like you were just in the wrong place. but what makes you think just because a car is old it deserves respect on the street? appreciation maybe but not respect.

Well I'm on the interstate and people are coming off the onramps and cutting in front of me. I'm thinking come on people, this brick cant change speeds like that!! Cant you see I'm in an old**** car.

I just got back to Oklahoma from Austin in my 55 chevy, 3.73 gears, drum brakes, manual steering. I could only cruise 60 mph the whole way, are you telling me I should keep my car off the road because I cant drive 70 ?

I admit I never passed one car the whole trip but got alot of thumbs up and smiles from many people as they passed me.

I took my 55 sunliner on a highway trip today and did not have too much problems with the idiots,I had a few come over in my lane a little too closely going through downtown Cincinnatti and one yuppie in a mini van got a little close in the rear.. I got more annoyed by the woman in the beemer going too slow on the phone in the left lane and could not get around due to the trucks. Jeff

  10. That started when the****holes in cars started speeding up as soon as the truck put on the turn signal so they could not get over. when I drove for a living years ago we had a rule 3 sceonds and over we went! I gave up the class A last year when they changed all the rules and said no more traffic school and don't matter if you get a ticket in your car or truck point count doubles. had that damn thing for 24yrs hated to let it go but their ain't no way I could put up with these******s today, that includes truck drivers also, most don't have any concept of road maners.

Oh yeah, that "people dont respect others thing" is way to true, last Sat. nite my daughter took my wife and her friend to a casino and parked in the back away from everybody and some****hole keyed the***** out of the right side from front to rear. 21 yrs old and her first new car she was pissed, and I would have hated to see what she would have done to them if she had caught them!!

I drive my 30 year old car every day, and I'm amazed at the number of idiots who simply refuse to give way when they're supposed to, or barge through stop signs and roundabouts, looking at you as if to say...

'Yeah, I know you're not gunna muck your nice old car up by running the risk of hitting me...'

The worst offenders are generally driving ratty ol SUV's or pickup trucks with bullbars on the front too, not the sort of thing you want to hit in anything smaller than a Sherman tank.

    Cheers, Glen.

I agree there are alot of bad drivers, everyeone seems to be in a hurry and if something does happen they do not have any skills to correct the situation which then leeds to panic and an accident. It seems no one wants to drive with any care or courtesy now, not very professional if you ask me.

i was at the Oakland, CA DMV about a year ago--the gangster one near the coliseum. so i'm sitting in the waiting chairs, and this dude ahead of me cannot read/ speak English to save his life. the lady behind the counter told him to read the letters from sign "A." (the vision****essment signs) he couldn't figure out what sign "A" was. i turn to the gangster next to me, and i say, "he can't even identify the first letter of the alphabet.... how is he going to understand the word 'STOP'?!"

  15. I had a guy pull in front of me on the left to make a right into a gas station who passed me in my Suburban with a car trailer on the back to do it. Horns blew and fingers waved and I sure didn't tell him he was number one. Number two is more like it.

But it's not a new thing, in college years ago I bought a clean '77 LeSabre for a beater and I'm making a left turn at a place where there's two lanes to turn left, I'm in the right hand of the two lanes. This****hole in a Ford Festiva is in the left, and as soon as he's around the corner he just changes lanes in front of me without looking. Given I blew the motor in the Buick a month later, I should have just ran into the****hole. I mean it's one thing to drive like an****hole, but to do it in a go-kart with a roof? Just shoot yourself in the head and save the other driver the hassle if you want to kill yourself.

That's people's favorite thing to do around here is change lanes in the middle of the intersection or right after and not even look. I've yelled at a few people for doing it, but normally I just make sure I go fast enough that if they change lanes they'll hit me. I paid a lot less for my truck than an insurance company would pay to total it out.

The funniest/saddest one I ever saw was on a trip to Indianapolis years ago. Here we are on I-90 in Cleveland by where it makes the 90' left hand bend in 5:00 near bumper to bumper traffic, and this dude on a crotch rocket passes us and is popping wheelies in traffic. With no helmet on. I have to think he's long since stained the pavement red somewhere.

I think people are just becoming****holes in general. It amazes me some of the crazy***** I see on the road. Heck New York made a new law aimed just at the crotch-rocket crowd after a State Trooper killed himself chasing one a couple years ago by overdriving the Chevy Blazer SUV he was chasing the guy in and ran headon into a tree. (keeping it in the family, his sister is now a city cop and ran into someone in an intersection last week... maybe they're just all bad drivers). But now fleeing from the cops is a worse offense if you get caught (doesn't that make it more likely someone will try to run, not less likely???).

Try riding a black, lowered Triumph bobber like I do. Its pretty much life and death everytime I hop on that thing. My model A is under four feet tall so its kind of hard to see, at least most people hear it first and it gets their attention. I had to lock it up and slide through a green light the other day when this SUV full of dipshit frat boys ran a red light looking for a parking spot by the bars here in town.

It's the reason I'm looking at disk brakes and likely radials for my '49 Ford. I try as much as possible to avoid driving it during the week. I've locked the wheels and just about given myself a heart attach once to often. As has been said, most people don't give a***** about anyone else, but they also can't appreciate how other vehicles cannot stop as fast as their Honda Civic. Just talk to a trucker. Most are looking for a new career.

I'm a car guy, but I can honestly say I hate driving in the city now. I try to cruise early on the weekends and try to get out of town to do it. Most people put the key in the ignition, pull the lever into drive and hope for the best...

I drove a school bus for 6 years, and you know how people hate getting stuck behind them. There were some situations that were so bad, the kids in the bus were putting their windows down yelling at the guy that did whatever it was he did to get their (and my) dander up.

I've had several people pull out right in front of me, looking me in the eyes, and not think anything of it. Folks just plain don't give a***** anymore. They usually flip you off if you honk at them for being stupid. We need a common sense test with driving tests.

i've had more than a few people make a left turn off a T intersection directly in front of me, when they had the stop sign. horn blew, finger was up, and they all saw it.

oh, and tailgaters, i hate those the most. one was so bad i pulled over and proceeded to tailgate them for a few miles. seems they are worse at night, and its always gotta be that idiot with those bright blue headlights... i'm hoping one day i gotta stop short, i need a new bed anyway.

Driving back home around 9:00 pm Saturday evening on a four lane in my coupe and came up on a tractor trailer running off the road into the shoulder. My fiirst thought was..he was falling asleep.
Came up beside him and was going to beep my horn to wake him up and here setting on the dash right above the steering wheel was a DVD player turned on.
Here he was watching a movie and driving at the same time.
What the hell is this world coming to anymore???
Could you imagine running into the rear end of a family car full of children getting ready to turn or stopping quickly??
Now this*****'s got to stop immediately!!

I see this every day, it's worse in my neck of the woods. No one takes driving seriously and yet they think they are all professionals. The police should be doing more about agressive driving and people changing lanes every 10 seconds. You cant drive anywhere safely because some clown is not watching the road.

  24. I think that if you cant run 70 where the speed limit is 70, say I55 in st louis mo just north of hwy 67. if you are holding up traffic. You dont need to be out there be realistic and take some back roads. Also when you are going slow and you get some vehicles behind you pull over and let them go by. I drive a peterbuilt that is about 75 ft long will probably rum 100mph.I usually drive about 5mph above the limit. When it is 55 i go 60 because in 14 th gear it is turning 1500 rpm and will pull when grossed out to 80,000 it will be lugging at 55and overwinding in 13th gear. Alsao when i want to change lanes there is never a opening big enough. I put on the turn signal and if there is a foot between me and traffic i take 6 inches when traffic moves a little i take 1/2 of whatever is there, All truckers do this it is the only way to merge over lots of times. Yes and i do pull over when traffic backs up behind me and cannott pass. OldWolf

A new one has cropped up, at least in my view. Driving things that many perceive to be slow. This last weekend I had the dually/5th wheel out through OH and PA. Through most of the trip I was able to cruise well beyond the speed limit...not enough. Whenever I drive the H3 people pass me as if I was driving less than the limit no matter what speed I'm going. But in order to at least get a laugh out of it, a week ago I purposely drove a bit over 80 since this newer Harley edition truck want to get around. Now remember this about the perception of speed vs actual. I pushed it just before 94 on southbound 275. I crept up slowly to around 85, not enough he dove around in terminal disgust at my slow-assed ride. I then slowed to 3 over the limit. Imagine my joy as I saw him getting his ticket a mile up the road. I smiled so big I had to turn my head to finish it.

I have had it both ways. Some people are*****s and fly around you and cut you off. Other times when we have stalled in traffic people are pretty patient waiting for us to push it aside. Those are the people that will ask if you need help as well.

  27. I rode my old '84 Goldwing from FL to CA and back with no problem and got home and an old woman (older than me) pulled her white Town Car right in front of me resultin' in a crash and broke collar bone ... AND she just went right on down the road ... go figure .. !!

I agree with cars becoming too easy to drive. Someone said its more like aiming than driving. Very true. I drive a 5 speed as my daily now. Before buying this car I had never driven a manual around town/in traffic (I'm 18). You can't go zipping around pulling in front of people, but the main thing is multi tasking. You have to be really paying attention to whats going around you and you don't have a free hand....unless you drive with your right hand on the wheel and let go to shift...
