This may be a dumb question, but can someone tell me if there is a frost plug located in the back of the block behind the bellhousing?(61 Ford Unibody,223/4 speed) I am new to the truck and added water to the radiator and I get water flowing out between the block and the bellhousing. Any help is appreciated!

    Hey Jerry,

Is that the T98 transmission, and does it have a hatch for cluch adj-
ustment, located on the top of the bell housing? Ya might look there,
after adding water. I'm guessin' you've already checked for water in the oil and radiator?

I'm pretty sure there is one in the back of the head ... is it possible the coolant is leaking out there, in through the small hole in the back of the bellhousing, and out the bottom?

    Hey Thanks guys,
No water in the oil, thank God. I am not sure of the model number on the trans. If it helps it is a granny trannie 4 speed. Used to be a old farm truck, it has been in my wifes family for many years, almost since new. It has seen better days, but I would like to keep it alive.
This is no small leak, It is like if there a gutter hooked to the radiator. I checked the frost plug on the back of the head, no problems there. But it is gushing out the TOP of the bellhousing/block and some out of the bottom of the bellhousing. ?????

  5. No, there's not one frost plug on the back of the engine---there's THREE

The top one is probably the one that's giving you fits.....and the bell covers about half of it. That's why you got a gusher on top, and a trickle down below.
