This is my first project on a car. It's a 67 Valiant 2 door sedan that had a slant six. I am building a 341 hemi that has been bored .060" to a 352. The induction system is a Hilborn unit that has been modified to accept TPI injectors. It is the newer model with the 2-3/16" throttle plates. The pistons are 10-1 Venolias on stock rods with ARP bolts. The cam is an Isky 272 X .484" solid. The valves are 2.02" Chevy and 1.77 Pontiac cut down to 1.73" to give more valve to valve clearance. The springs are Crane. Pushrods are Hot Heads adjustable. The ignition is a Joe Hunt mag converted to Pertronix electronic. The computer is a Megasquirt V3 that will control the ignition timing, detonation timing control, as well as the injectors. The trans is an A-727 that has been built up with a Hughes 3000 converter. The rear is an 8-3/4" 3.91 posi. The rims are Centerline Autodrags with a 5 on 4" bolt pattern. The rears are 8-1/2" X 15s with BF Goodrich Radial T/As 275 X 60 X 15s and the fronts are 3-1/2" X 15s with Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. I've enlarged the oil pan to 7 quarts and had it zinc plated here in Tucson. The headers are homemade using 1-3/4" tubing dumping into a 3" system. The timing cover is homemade and accepts a late model Mopar water pump. The pump is an electric unit. The engine was raised about 2" in order for the exhaust to clear the steering box. This meant raising the ****** tunnel a bit, but that's OK since I had to add new floor pans anyway. Killed two birds with one stone. Since clearances are very tight in the engine well, solid motor mounts are used. Part of the p***enger side shock tower had to be cut back to clear the valve cover and the master cylinder was moved over about 2" to clear the other valve cover. The K member was modified to clear the larger oil pan.
